This applies to so many things. Someone's lifestyle might come under attack, someone's religion might be persecuted, someone has sensitive information to share, and so on and so forth.

Ah. You pray at the altar of Google with the mantra: "It only works in Chrome or Edge. Why not upgrade your browser?"

What could possibly go wrong with giving all the power to one browser engine? If only there was a precedent to learn from...

As always, please ensure you stop your Jellyfin server and take a full backup before upgrading!

Now, if only there was a simple, built-in way to backup/export and restore/import all settings and other data, so that all platforms could do this easily, without having to search the internet for which folders to back up...

FYI, this is the best we have atm (which is pretty terrible). Please correct me if there is a better way:

How to backup a JF instance?

TBF, that's actually a pretty profound insight.

Most, if not all, of us take certain concepts for granted until someone points out that it's more complex than we realise. Examples like Dark Energy & Matter, entropy, the placebo effect, the nature of mathematical objects, etc. are proof of this.

The benefits are not meant for the consumer.

Kinda OT, but writing about privacy and then presenting an abysmal way to opt out of 160+ trackers is pure, hypocritical, rich irony.

Yes, I'm talking to you, ghacks.net.

Actually true. There's no reference in the Bible where Jesus says we should do that. Apart from the name, Christmas has nothing to do with Christ.

Some banks do this *** too. The more money you deposit, the less fees you pay. Because 'premium customer' and all this.

I didn't know, so I looked it up. Now I know. Thought you might like to know too, if you don't already. 🙂

Just naming a company isn't particularly useful. Some context would be great, so others can hate the company too. 🫠

This was written about 8 years ago. Do you feel the Linux landscape has objectively improved? Why? Why not?

This is not a meme, but a reminder of a terrible time and this particular event. Post it in a history community, but not here. Why would we find something so sad funny?

It is in bad taste. To say the least.

What does "out of my league" even mean?

The concept of someone being "out of my league" is a myth. We really should stop putting people in these categories and instead see everyone as an equal challenge. By labeling someone as "out of my league," I am limiting myself and degrading the people who I think are "in my league." It's better to focus on people we're genuinely interested in and not place them on such a high pedestal that they feel they need to be worshipped. Rather place them high enough to think they are prized. The people we date are the ones who we think are great, and we believe they could make us great too.

I feel we should remember that no one is out of anyone's league. We should rather focus our attention on a person we're genuinely interested in and challenge ourselves.

You never know what might happen until you try.

What's wrong with babying someone we love?

Forgot what love is and that there are a million ways of expressing it, huh?

And what's it anyone's business anyways?
