He took the plea deal probably because he can’t afford a lengthy legal battle, decline to pay his lawyers, getting court dates shifted, appointing his own judge,… There is an entirely separate US justice system for the rich and powerful.

If CA decriminalizes it, everyone would be looking toward the state to see its success or failure. Opponents would try to find any excuse to shut it down whether in CA or other states. So if we can set up guidelines and necessary infrastructure for safe use, both medically and recreationally, it would be better for long term success of psylocybin legalization.

Switching to a Linux can be overwhelming. A few distros have made great strides to make most of the OS work right after installing it. But even if there’s only 1% issues due to hardware, drivers, gaming, etc., troubleshooting those issues would often require using terminal and are not accessible to everyone. There’s no customer support to reach out to, and online forums can be difficult to navigate for someone not familiar with coding.

Interviewed with a recruiter for a senior role and realized the same. On top of that, the recruiter couldn’t answer some questions I had about the role, nor would connect me with someone who could but wanted me to do a coding round first. Overall not good experience. Later learned anecdotally that work culture at Mozilla isn’t great. I love what Mozilla is trying to do, use Firefox as my primary browser, and wanted to contribute my time to supporting the company, but came away disappointed.
