To piggy-back on this post, how often do SSD's and HDD's need to be powered up, yearly, if they are in cold storage? Is it necessary to read and re-write all of data of the drive?

Maybe this is not intentionally malicious but some sort of rate-limit or caching issue?

I wonder how soon before the Fedi-wars begin when servers de-federate from each other and begin to fracture apart into little echo chambers. It would be a shame if The Powers That Be start to power-trip. I believe we are stronger together!
