I hadn’t seen that cross with plumb bobs on it before. Searched and found this for anyone else interested.

For road building and laying out settlements in the distinctive grid patters, the main tool of agrimensores was a device known as the groma, believed to have had its origins in Egypt. This instrument consisted of a long wooden staff, pointed at the lower end and topped with a wooden arm, about 25cm/10" long. This cross arm had a pivot to support the stellata, which was the main part of the instrument and consisted of a wooden cross with plumb bobs at the end. To use the groma, the surveyor set it up where two roads were to intersect at right angles, and used the plumb bobs as guides for laying out a line of stakes or flags. Using the naked eye, these stakes could be constantly realigned, to maintain a straight line as the course of the road was plotted. Source

Don’t be afraid to try odd jobs or go for opportunities that you normally wouldn’t. New opportunities and interests can open up from getting out of your comfort zone.

30 days for 300 people. I usually go with the option to rip the bandaid off and just get it done. And hypothetically, if the opportunity to perform in front of 1,300 people was still available after the 30 days, now I have 10 minutes of material I dialed in that could be used.

I honestly don’t see what’s ironic about it. It’s obviously a non-profit, which usually operate with volunteers and interns. At least they’re being honest about the internship being unpaid in the title rather than leading people on.

With all the impacts the moon seems to take, is there any footage of a new crater being made? That would be super cool to see.

The idea behind the heliosphere and all its related parts are really interesting. Something about a giant space bubble/teardrop flying through the galaxy that blows my mind. Learning about termination shock and the sink basin example really gave off this weird sense of cosmic grandeur that can be somewhat replicated on earth. As above so below kinda thing.

Tell that to the group of singing skeletons that visit my backyard nightly. They are very expressive.
