It's not that you dislike doing it because you get money for it
You dislike it because you do it all day and don't have any veriety in it. When it's a hobby can can take a break from it at any time and do something else in the meantime

It hasn't been profitable for a long time. Its only recently that it became profitable
Edit: I actually couldn't find anything about it's profability and most sources say it's not really profitable.
Well it depends on.how big the wound is. Usually for me it takes around half an hour for a pimple to "heal"
I don't know about that. The new pixel 8 series is getting announced tomorrow, but I haven't read anywhere that they will release Android 14 tomorrow. When Android 12 released it also took them a couple of weeks to release it for their older models.

Not being tracked doesn't mean they can't have ads.
TV ads are still a thing and so are billboard ads.
They could simply show ads depending on the context of the content you're looking at.
