Hey, FUCKER here. For the people who actually remember me, yes I'm still alive. If you're wondering why I stopped posting, it was a combination of things, but it was mostly caused by my deteriorating motivation to do anything recently. When I first started this community, I was always excited to hear people's funny thought on the random images I've uploaded. Hearing people's stories motivated me to keep growing this community to what it was. But like everything I touch, I was burnt out. I was (and kinda still) in a period of my life where I had no motivation to do anything in my life. I've stopped doing what I loved and started to regret the action I've done in the past. Because of that, I've stopped being active here and took a mental break for a while, hence the inactivity.

I've decided that I don't really wanna keep posting here anymore. I don't have the mental motivation to keep this up, so I've decided to make a proposition for the community.

I'm willing to let someone else manage this community while I'm gone. They will moderate and upload content to the community for me. If no one wants to take management, then I will shut down this community.

While I do think this sounds a bit harsh, I do think that this is necessary for this community. If someone doesn't actively moderate, then this community will turn into a generic /c/196 clone. This wont be a popular decision, but I think it's the best option we got.

Before I go, I just wanna say thank you to anyone who contributed to the community. From the commenters, to the posters, I'm glad we could make an interesting and unique community for Lemmy.

As my token of appreciation, I've linked my archive of posts from the original /r/internet_funeral subreddit for you guys to share. This is what I've been using for the past 7 months to post here, so I hope you enjoy it. :)

My Archive

Thanks for everything

!internetfuneral is a fan made magazine of the original subreddit /r/internet_funeral. The point of this magazine is for posting surreal and obscure art (or images that could be interpreted as art) that has text in them. This does NOT include memes, so don't post those here. (While there will be some exemptions for this, most of the time they will be removed.)

Here are some examples of images that would fit in !internetfuneral:

As this is a heavily curated magazine, your post might be deleted as it doesn't meet our guidelines. Please don't worry about it too much! A lot of posts commonly get removed, so don't feel bad if your does. The moderation team will inform you on why your post was deleted.

Thank you for reading and I hope you like this magazine as much as I do.

Signed,

fucker

image descriptionPhotographs of the front and back of Apple's original Mac 128k. A finger is touching the power switch on the back, and a hand is inserting a floppy disk into the front. Text below reads: Insert the Macintosh System Disk into the disk drive, metal end first, label side up. Push the disk until it clicks into place. The soft hum is your Macintosh getting information from the disk. A message appears, welcoming you to Macintosh.

Wise words from Master

Just played metal gear solid. Damn, that actually surprised me. The story was good, gameplay was good, and this was all done on the PS1? I'm taking a small break before heading up to MGS2 and figured I'd share this screenshot for all my fellow gamers XD
