I use my smart watch for 3 features

  1. As a watch
  2. For notifications
  3. For sleep tracking

I don't really do any sports, but it's nice to know how many steps I took today and how far I walked. (it's between 100m-20km per day)

Probably not since it doesn't use infrared lasers or similar as far as I know

Because:

  1. I will buy it anyway
  2. I get free earphones when I buy now
  3. It will arrive next week

The 7 years of updates and that the software experience will be excellent, sold me to it. I don't even consider Samsung phones because I absolutely hate their software. I also don't consider buying an IPhone because I own an IPad and while not a terrible experience, it's worse than on my Pixel.

Worse than the suboptimal battery life?

Just pre-ordered the 258GB Pixel 8 in rosé

Currently own a 4a and love it except for the battery life and the sometimes bad performance

Then buy the pro, sell the phone and keep the watch

It's not Android 4 where the browser actually had to be updated with a system update

Also they specifically said OS updates

To be fair, they are primarily an Software (and theirfor AI) company.

It's still pretty annoying.

I also actually really liked the intro of the Keynote for once.

They aren't new. They only released new colors

That doesn't really apply to me since my internal motivation dies out pretty quickly and if I force myself to keep going I only get worse and worse results and start hating the things I love.

I don't really get a lot of internal satisfaction or at least not enough that keeps me doing something. If I notice I start losing motivation, it's better for me to stop and pick it up again when I feel motivated again (which can take months or years).

I enjoy the process of learning something new.

Wasn't the case for ImageMagick and OpenSSL for a very long time.
