As an additional note this rule is already included in either EasyList – Other Annoyances or AdGuard – Popup Overlays. I recommend just enabling either full category for a more usable internet.

Every time so far in a case like this I've had the trial still run for the remaining time after cancelling. I think it's just a dark pattern to scare you out of cancelling early.

My favourite answer to this is Emergence, which was explained well in a recent kurzgesagt video.

Basically Emergence dictates that a group of things (like H2O molecules) can form something greater than the sum of itself (wetness). In the molecules wetness is not a thing, but the interaction of water with something else creates wetness. This concept cannot reasonably be boiled down to the molecular level, it only exists on this plane of existence.

The changes to linux audio lately are a bit of a mess. Wireplumber completely changed their config format with 5.0 and it just stopped launching if you had v4 configs.

I do appreciate that we're not stuck with pulseaudio anymore though so I really shouldn't complain.

NERV is the name of the major organization in Evangelion. Gehirn Inc, the creator of this app, is the name of the predecessor to NERV in NGE. The font and red design are also the same.

Edit: Seems like the creator is a huge NGE fan and just went with it.
