I often tell my students “whatever you do, don’t go to libgen dot rs to download our textbook illegally. You’re gonna want to avoid Anna’s archive as well. You really want to steer clear from these malicious websites.”

I prefer turning off all the breakers in my house, but whatever floats your boat!

Yeah. To be specific, you wouldn’t want people to donate and expect a specific service. Or worse, donate in exchange for their site whitelisted.

Exact same over here. I don’t want an online account. I just don’t. I never will. I’d used Linux desktop a few times in the past but gaming was always bringing me back to windows. Finally my windows machine broke for no reason and after weeks of not being able to fix it I just installed Linux on top of it. Haven’t considered going back.

I know what you mean. My Linux machine breaks all the time but every time it’s my fault lol

I agree with everything except a wireless mouse. I have a magnetic usb “nub” that plugs into the mouse so when I need to charge it every couple of weeks it’s as simple as moving the mouse near enough the magnetic cable and it pops into place.

For me, the benefits of a wireless mouse far outweigh the imperceptible-to-me lag from the 2.4ghz dongle 10cm away in clear view. The only downside I can see is the weight of the battery, but I’m not a competitive FPS player so I’m good.

I wonder if HomeKit and HomeKit bridge would satisfy that itch.

I set it up so I can use Siri to open my garage door. Works great! You just need at least one HomeKit device like an Apple TV or a HomePod.

I’ve heard of people serious about coffee who use sugar. How much do you use? I’ve also seen people brew with sugar right in with the coffee grounds - do you do that or do you add it to your cup?

One of the hardest things to let go of when I gave up smoking pot was rolling joints. The ritual was so calming, and after several decades, a huge part of my life. But preparing a pour over coffee is so similar to that: wetting a paper, grinding, strong smells, heat. Not to mention the flavours of the different strains and the tinkering with the process to get the most out of your “stuff”. Only now I don’t bumble on like an idiot for 3 hours!

Nice. I quit smoking weed and reduced my alcohol intake to near zero a few years ago. To make up for all of the lost ritual, I dove deep into coffee brewing. It’s the only part of my day that I have complete control over and I love that.

I will try those beans! Thanks for the tip.

I think you mean “Model types”

Not without DRM that I’m aware of.

I've been using Google Drive in Windows for about a decade and have a good workflow. I recently transitioned to Linux but cannot seem to reliably connect my drive to the filesystem. My work provides unlimited Drive space and since it's for work I have shared directories with coworkers that I need access to every day. Hence, I'm kind of tied to GDrive.

Is there a reliable method of doing this? Rclone seems to be what I want but it seems to disconnect regularly, and often doesn't upload the changes I make which defeats the purpose.

Do Linux users just not use Drive?
