Didn't they also live through all of what you just mentioned? What makes their experience of those events different than yours? It is all perspective. How do you know what it was like to be alive during the civil right's movement, the Cuban missile crisis, the oil crisis, the assassinations of JFK and MLK Jr, the Vietnam war and the draft, the real estate crash in the 1980's, etc.

It turns out that people are rubbish at understanding others perspective and life experiences. There is no hand book on how to be an adult and how to live. Giving advice is difficult. Give your parents a break and realize that they are people too.

Why are you using vinegar in your ears? That's not typical.

The content is hosted on lemmy.world - that's how the fediverse works. Each instance pushes updates to other instances and they host it locally for their users. The issue is that the admins here can't moderate a community not on their instance. So if an instance is located somewhere it is legal, it might not be legal at the location of another instance.

Just as a heads up, if you are using Privacy Badger it can block the comments in lemmy.world from appearing on 0.18.3.

Not quite, the All feed shows you all posts from all communities subscribed to on your instance. If there isn't a user subscribed, it isn't pushed to that instance.

Lemmy.world Themes (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Would it be possible to implement a custom theme for Lemmy.world? There is a ton of wasted screen space and I prefer something a little more compact. I wouldn't mind creating a new css file, but I don't want to waste my time if it wouldn't be implemented.
