It's a limitation imposed by Apple, so you won't find anything that can sync as seamlessly as iCloud. Apps can only sync for up to 60s in the background when receiving a wake-up notification from the server.

What a disaster

Google Pixel has this but in the dark it just defaults to auto rotate mode so I can't really use my phone in bed vertically... I wish they could let me choose whether it defaults to lock mode or auto mode.

You could start your own VPC data center with this lmao

I'm from the country above, but what you described seems like something worth fundraising for. Not eating for 45 days is scary even as the reader (I understand you probably consume food somehow).

I hope you get the help you need and come out of this strong 🙏

Something I dislike about Bartender is that you have to upgrade your license every macOS upgrade, but I understand the devs need to eat

  • MacWhisper (free but recommended upgrade 25 euro) - High quality, customizable and reliable audio transcription software using OpenAI Whisper
  • Recordia ($4) - Voice memos if it was lighter, more reliable, and one click in your menu bar
  • Orion (free) - Web browser developed by the folks at Kagi that brings the best of Safari and enhances it with QoL improvements, like performance, chrome and Firefox extension support, custom search engines, ad blocking, vertical tabs, etc.
  • Raycast (free) - Spotlight for developers. Get quick conversions, calculations, and file searches or extend its powers with the huge extension library that me and many others have contributed to

It's actually pretty difficult still if you're using secure hashing functions like Argon2 and bcrypt because they're hard on memory and computational power, meaning brute force attacks are pretty much infeasible, both due to hardware requirements and long hashing times.

This is from 2022 lmao

In Drake's new album he says "android her messages is lime green", and that came out days ago

Smaller LLMs have huge performance tradeoffs, most notably in their abilities to obey prompts. Bard has billions of parameters, so mobile chips wouldn't be able to run it.

I use terminal in VSCode very often, so I almost always have it open. It defaults to opening at the bottom of the window, but if you move it to the side so it's stretched vertically, you gain so much more useable screen real estate for your actual code without sacrificing too much readability in the terminal.

Not sure if this is isolated to me, but when sorting by Active, my Subscribed, Local and All feeds pretty much don't change for multiple days. I have to sort by New, Hot, etc. to get new content, but even those feeds stay somewhat constant.

Is this a problem with how the Lemmy feed algorithms work? Or is it a queueing issue, like how Mastodon refreshes timelines?

I just updated my Steam Deck to the latest stable update patch and now the drawer menus when clicking Steam and the ... buttons do not show up. I can hear the drawers opening, but they're invisible on screen. My view stays on the home view pretty much. I've restarted multiple times, but they never come back.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Edit 19:17 ET: I'm able to use the search bar to open my library and the Wifi icon to open settings. They will have to do I guess.

Edit 22:33 ET: Surprisingly, Steam has issued an RMA. Fast response though!

Edit 00:00 ET (June 15, 2023): After a few hours of resetting, factory reset through settings solved the issue, including after an update to the latest version again.

Topor Live, a large Telegram-based news outlet based out of Russia, with over 3.9M followers, reported that REvil, Anonymous Sudan, and Killnet are going to take down the European banking system in 48 hours.

• The woman's relatives were shocked to discover that she was still alive while preparing her body for the funeral after she had been declared dead by the hospital.

• The woman's son said that his mother started to move her left hand, open her eyes and struggle to breathe when they opened the coffin.

• Firefighters arrived and lifted the woman from the coffin onto a stretcher and took her back to the same hospital where she had been declared dead.

• The woman's son said that his mother was responsive and on oxygen in the intensive care unit, and reacted when a doctor pinched her hand.

• The health ministry has opened an investigation into the incident after the woman was issued a death certificate stating she had died of cardiopulmonary arrest following a stroke.

• The article mentions another case in February where an 82-year-old woman was found breathing while lying in a funeral home after being pronounced dead three hours earlier at a nursing home.

xQc was annoyed after the police were called to his Texas home for the second time in two days while he was streaming. He and his former partner Adept are currently in a legal battle following their separation last year. xQc released a clip showing his disheveled home and mentioned that important documents, including his work visa, were missing. When the police arrived during his stream, xQc said "I don't give a fuck anymore. I'm just being baited." However, he refused to end his stream, telling viewers he did not care what happened to the house.

Apple Vision Pro launched at WWDC over a week ago and they showed a lot of clips of normal people wearing it doing (relatively) normal things, like cooking, watching movies, even working at the office.

One clip that really intrigued me was the one where a father was recording his kids in 3D through his Vision Pro. To me, this seemed off at first since to other people, it may not look like you're present in the moment. But after thinking about it for a while, isn't it the same as just wearing sunglasses, if not better? Sunglasses block your eyes, but Vision Pro would show your eyes to the outside world.

So I guess the question is, will Apple Vision Pro and subsequent products become widely socially acceptable one day?
