How did you find Picard? I haven't heard many good things about it.

[โ€“] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Okay cool! I'm definitely going to dive in either way but I wasn't sure if characters like T'Pring or Nurse Chapel become really different or suddenly there's big differences in their personalities etc

Yeah, baby. The reviews are actually good for this one. I guess that isn't much of a suprise considering this is a full on Tobin Bell-fest.

Yeah, it's the same account. I can DM you the name of my Hexbear account if it's useful to you.

Yeah I'm not banned and it works with Infinity. Literally just Sync.

This sounds great. Thanks for the rec.

Woah, woah, woah. You had me at babbling prostates...

Factory farms are also an aberration and a crime against sentient beings. This just adds a dollop more "cruel and unusual" and it's not saving lives it's torturing and sacrificing one feeling, thinking, and intelligent life so a human can live another 5 years.

I think both show a fundamental lack of empathy for any living thing other than humans.

On industrial farms there is zero quality of life so it's not exactly a high bar...

How are we getting these organs out? Killing them and then removing them? Or are we going to grow clusters and cut them out when needed?

It sounds like a dystopian nightmare to me.

More like torture and suffering of sentient beings. It's some fucking Mengele shit.

My son is epileptic and I used to find the Reddit community was great for asking questions.

In the UK at least I know of Rage which is self-explanatory and The Eyes Of the Dragon which is a bit strange since it's available in other regions.

Any others?

I normally have some level of anxiety but I've been having really extreme anxiety and panic attacks over the past few day. The only thing I've taken that I don't usually take is loratadine for allergies. I've seen online that it's meant to have the reverse effect on anxiety but I've also seen maybe one of two other people asking the same thing with no definite answers.

Anybody else get this?

I also haven't taken any today and I haven't had any panic attacks. My anxiety is at base level too.

Fucking hell man. The book started off kind of slow but once it got going, it was just an incredible ride.

I'm still thinking about the end and probably will be for a while even though I really want to move on to the next book on my list!

I'm really looking forward to making this. It looks so good..

I know I'm super late to the party, but I just read my first Stephen King novel (Thinner) and absolutely devoured it.

I loved it, so I'm reading Pet Semetary and while it started a bit slow, it's got its hooks in me now. I've already got 4 more books lined up for when I'm done.

I don't even know why I didn't start sooner because I love horror, I used to read Goosebumps books as a kid constantly and I love films like The Shining and The Green Mile.

I'm working my way through the more well-known ones (IT, Cujo, Green Mile, Different Seasons etc) but can anyone recommend some deeper cuts that I might also enjoy? I've seen on a few rankings that Thinner is usually relatively low and I loved it so I'm looking forward to exploring his back catalogue!

Hey all, I'm the new mod for /c/podcasts here but I've noticed none of the previous posts are showing up. I can see everything in the comment tab and when I click on the "show context" for a comment I can find the original posts.

Does anybody know why this is or how I can fix it?

Can anyone recommend a UFO podcast that's mostly grounded in reality and facts like High Strange or The UFO Rabbit Hole?

Hey everyone,

If you have a podcast you're a part of and want to get some new listeners, please post the title and a short podcast summary here.

Thanks!

To whoever finds this new community, welcome!

I thought I would start this community off by sharing my favourite app and podcasts and would invite you to do the same.

I've been an Android user for many, many years now so I've been through every podcast app there is. The one I always come back to though, is Podcast Addict. The dev is really responsive, hard-working and listens to the community. The app itself has just an insane amount of features and anything you can think of is generally possible. I also like Podcast Republic and PocketCasts but they might be better suited to people who don't want to tinker as much and get everything little thing working as they like.

I go through new podcasts constantly so my favourites do change a lot, however, at the moment these are my favourites.

  • Last Podcast On The Left - They're a comedy true-crime/ paranormal/ weird stuff/ gory history podcast. They've been around a long time now and I always go back to them.
  • Chilluminati - This one is very similar to LPOTL but they do a lot of new conspiracies (the fun kind not the poisonous kind) and internet mysteries which I enjoy. They also have a slightly different dynamic in that two of the guys are believers and one is a sceptic.
  • Swinded - Swindled is a true crime podcast but it handles exclusively blue-collar crime, so shady business dealings, human rights violations, scams etc. It's really informative and really well written.
  • All Systems Goku - I'm not a huge anime fan but I love Dragon Ball. This series has been finished a while now but it's worth going back to every now and then. It's two comedians watching DBZ for the first time.
  • Retronauts - Admittedly, I haven't listened to this one in a while but it's a great retro gaming podcast with great hosts and guests.
  • You're Wrong About - A really fun and informative podcast about subjects and topics the public usually has a take on that might not be the entire truth.

Anyway! Welcome to the community and I can't wait to read everyone's replies!
