Also forgot about last year when RedBull won all but 1 race.

Konsole is awesome and has great integration with Plasma ofc. I'm surprised to see it barely mentioned.

Hi!

I'm trying to run the emacs daemon as a systemd user unit, and I'm seeing this error when trying to launch the GUI client:

Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified

From what I've seen online it might be due to it trying to start before I'm logged in or something like that.
It does work after restarting the unit but I don't want to do that every time.

Anyone else see this before? Any ideas for a fix? Is there a better way of starting the emacs daemon?

That's so cool!

The fun part is how this is sabotaging our economy.
You can't sanction a country if you're depending on importing critical resources from them...

Sci-fi RTS sounds good but it looks sooo much like SC2.

Valve doesn't bother when it comes to this sorta thing. If they can't automate it, and it requires a human, they won't do it.
This leads to much worse consequences - the CS2 and DOTA2 communities are toxic cesspools. These games which actively require good communication are filled with the most vile racist sexist everything-phobic people (and kids!) you've ever seen. It's the wild west of the Internet, like 4 Chan. It's been like this for years, and it will continue like this because handling that isn't something they can automate, and hiring people costs money...

Lol @ downvotes. So people think you're wrong. The right approach if you get beaten and/or threatened is to do nothing 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I've been complaining on their VR updates and github and everything but it's obvious they don't care.
I mean I'm not surprised, VR on Linux is 1% of 1%, but it's still upsetting after spending quite a lot of money on the hardware.

Edit: I see this is just for latency, well at least it works... For me I can maybe get it to start but it might take ~2 days of attempts.

The german car industry was busy lying about emissions instead of working on EVs and now they're salty China can build better and cheaper than Europe...

And ofc consumers have to pay for corporate greed. No cheap EVs for us. We will pay more for inferior products.

I'm european, but in the face of such greed, stupidity, and hypocrisy, I can only hope China will retaliate with their own tarrifs.

Hello folks! I’ve been having this issue seen in the screenshot. I get this Wayland window and krunner and other things run in there. After a time I even get the login screen inside the wayland window. If I close it I lose krunner, alt-tab, and other keyboard shortcuts.

Not sure how this is happening or how to make it go away. I did try Wayland at one point but it wasn’t quite working out for me and since I reverted back to X11 I get this issue.

If anyone’s wondering, my main issue with Wayland was that it wasn’t setting the DISPLAY and WAYLAND_DISPLAY environment variables for some reason, and this would cause all kinds of software like Steam and Firefox to not even launch. I tried setting them manually but that didn’t go do well either.

Edit: Thank you all! With your help I managed to find and fix it - it was my fault due to a systemd override launching a service after kwin_wayland.

[Unit]
Requires=plasma-kwin_wayland.service
After=plasma-kwin_wayland.service
[Install]
WantedBy=graphical-session.target

That was the issue. Remved the override and everything works!
I even tried Wayland again and now the display variables are defined correctly from the get go and everything works - although this has been on again off again so it might stop working at one point.

You have to scroll a bit to see the announcement. Curious to see what people think of this. I am a bit reluctant/skeptical, thinking if they get it wrong it's going to mess everything up.
