It's there really no basic security on these sats? I guess RF spectrum is highly regulated so the assumption was the tech can be simplified. Look where it got us today - foreign hostile state can just broadcast anything they want. I hope this is being addressed.

The thing that worries me the most is that a lot of engineering experience and culture will be lost in the process. It's not an industry that can easily fill such void.
