This is true. A moose once bit my sister.

Sorry, too busy. I need to optimize the ROI of that piece of dirt you are standing on so I can increase the value of my derivative trades before the second quarter stockholder meeting.

I learned from America's Test Kitchen to look at the ingredients. If the first ingredient is tomato paste or tomato concentrate, pass. If it is tomatoes, it will probably be fine. Although usually this means a more expensive jar, there are plenty of expensive/fancy looking jars that don't pass this test.

That said, Del Grosso's has a premium line with "Aunt Mary Anne's Marinara". It is our go-to and far and away the best I've tried.

Sprinkle some salsa and sour cream on it before you bake. I know it sounds weird, but it is so good.

Had a dermatologist appointment today. The receptionist asked me with a straight face if 2 PM on Tuesday in June of 2025 would work.

I don't know what the building codes / rules are where you live, but where I live (in the US), there is supposed to be a smoke detector in every bedroom. Newer code also requires them to be hardwired so 1) no batteries to change and 2) if one goes off, they all go off.

I put kiddie z-wave enabled smoke/CO detectors throughout the house, including one in every bedroom. They are linked into a monitored alarm system (abode), but that is mainly for keeping track of things when we are not at the house, and I m going to eventually switch to home assistant.

Since the main ones are already wired in, you could probably add at least the dumb smoke and CO detectors to every room for extra peace of mind.

I have had good luck installing Gallium OS on a Chromebook for my daughter, so you might look at some of the Chromebook tablet/detachable keyboard options. Just make sure the model you get is supported.

The last 'r' is cropped on my phone, so I was parsing it as boner-aise, which makes wildly inappropriate sense.

Sync for Lemmy works this way. It's not free, but it is good, and IMO the dev is a fellow worth supporting after he got screwed by Reddit.

Lutron makes the L3T251 which is a combination dimmer and timer for a bathroom fan and light combo in a single range switch.

It does not require a neutral wire because it pulls power from the light circuit, but as a result, I have to use an incandescent bulb in it. LED bulbs don't provide a low current resistive path for the parasitic power draw. I've tested this and if I put a known good LED bulb in, the switch is dead.

Now that incandescent bulbs have been banned, what are my options. If there's a similar product out there that uses a neutral and works with LED, I haven't found it. I imagine you could make a parallel high resistance circuit that would provide power to the switch when the light is off, but I have not found anything like that.

Any suggestions?
