You'll need a smart plug or outlet that supports power monitoring and a hub. You then need to make that a rule.

You want to put on a switch that supports double tap but the solution here i think is a zooz zwave remote switch. You can put it right next the your current switch and put on a 2gang face plate.

With that you set rule in rule machine to control the smart bulbs.

Some of the older dual band routers that has the same SSID for 2.4 and 5 ghz well default to 5ghz when trying to connect. I know that was the case for my previous router system and I was having a hard time connecting IoT devices as well. Until I went into the router settings, and disable the 5 ghz band temporarily to connect the IoT device and then turn the 5 ghz back on.

If that doesn't work, you may have a faulty Wi-Fi module on the purifier

A lot of these IOT devices are in 2.4ghz spectrum. Have you tried to connect it to a confirmed 2.4ghz network?
