It's like this

Everything looks good, and wonderful but there's always a surprise waiting for your.

Honestly it's fun and all but I wouldn't recommend for anything work related. If I were to run a mail server at home I'd make sure I get a mail gateway you can proxy your mail through that manages blacklists and reputation.

The biggest limitation is connection limits. While 2-3 users won't matter, once you get past 10 connections you will start to get into issues.

I wouldn't recommend powerlone but a mesh should resolve your issue given the signal is good. Is there a coax cable you can tap into?

Omfg I remember when I was doing system controls some weird vendor tried to be fancy and say to only use their special wired ethernet cable. We discovered when we went to repair the machine that the device was just using a regular ethernet but they crossed 4 wires and the cable when connected corrected that which made changed it back to a standard ethernet. (think of the machinery that does things in factories that make stuff)
