I picked up a permanent ban, after 15 years for saying 'Go outside fatso' to someone who said I couldnt read. Not my proudest moment, but there you go.

The reason I mention it, is that it adds a different dynamic if they are trying retain (and prevent me from editing) data which they hold about me. They might argue that doesn't extend to post where I've written "cats > dogs" - but anything where I've refered to where I live, whether I have kids, what my political views are, are all clearly personal details which they are not allowed to hold without retaining my consent.

Clear contraventions on GDPR in EU.

it is the unavoidable point if you insist English Lit should avoid difficult topics in order to instil the joy of reading, because literature is filled with harrowing stories of people behaving inhumanely towards one another.

at the same time, arguing that difficult topics should not be avoided but taught carefully, does not mean i do not empathise with those affected.

its silicon valley baby ! you haven't needed a profitable, sustainable model for decades. you need a big mouth, a slide deck and the phone numbers of a few suckers with lots of money.

OPs question suggests there was at least some illusion !

if we're only reading about rainbows and unicorns, it certainly thins the library.

...so does a post get created here, if i just tag it up ?

very cool - but.... could get a bit busy, if a new post easy is created so trivially easy ?

the bbc are just creaming over this. I'm not really keen on this modern style of soap-opera style coverage.

It's a very serious and criminal matter, a total dereliction of duty, utterly contemptuous of the people and he's just walked away.

edit; at the same time, a very dark part of me of which I am not proud, is pleased that some of British public are getting a terrific lesson on how to use a vote. They elected a demonstrable cunt, with long record of vile & degenerate behaviour, and this is their reward.

forgot to say -

. When I was in high school I was told half-caste was an acceptable term in the mid 2000s,

dual heritage is the way to go ! and much more meaningful.

I can see why, only if it is still being taught as it was 30 years ago - ie without addressing the language used - and I hope thats not the case. I can't imagine anyone doing so in 2023.

If you start pulling stuff for those reasons (and for the record, I dont understand why they are still reading Steinbeck anyway) you go down a slightly dodgy path.

if you selected [all] - as in, included posts to your subs on other servers, you get like a sporadic burst of pop ups, like a live feed of new stuff.

@[email protected] any idea how this works ? is federation like, live, or every 5 mins or what am i seeing ?!?

It's wild.!
