You can have something similar to what music streamers are doing. Sure Spotify has a majority, but you still have perfectly fine competitors.

I agree! But it's surprising that even Google doesn't have a native app for Drive. There's one for android, but not for Linux? I'm guessing it all boils down to number of users,, but still...

Mine was also mandrake in the early 2000's. There was no Ubuntu back then, and Mandrake was the "home desktop" for Linux, specially if you didn't need servers running. I think it worked fine, not sure why it got so much hate.
Jesus, in which type of company do you work where you expect your colleagues do that kind of thing. Really sad to live that defensive.
With some cables sometimes quality is higher with price though. I prefer a good 5 USD usb cable than a shitty one that breaks at the joint after a few days of use.
Same with audio cables for guitars, sound is probably not going to suffer (although really long cables can have some issues), but wear damage is definitely noticeable for the very cheap ones.

You basically need professional headphones and speakers to notice any difference, my guess is that 99% of Spotify customers have headphones that didn't cost more than $100, so why would they care? I mean, I have nice headphones and speakers and after some blind tests I couldn't notice any difference.
