A motorized a solar shade- a roller shade with a screen fabric, available in varying opacities from 1% to 10% typically. Great when down as they block the glare, but still allow you somewhat of a view out. They can be lithium battery powered. Usually with a hand held remote, but you can also add a bridge and options like automatic control according to the light, phone app, schedules, compatibility with other HA systems, including Alexa and Google Home. Obviously, the second option raises the price.

All of my home automation saves time and adds convenience. Things happen without my input, or they can happen with a simple verbal command. Shades go up and down without any effort from me. Lights, heat, air, landscape irrigation and lighting, the list goes on. Each on their own isn’t that big of a saving, but combined, they make my life much easier.
