I remember a friend deciding between the 9600k and 2600x since the 3600 hadn't come out yet. The 9600k came out like 9 months earlier.

We call that a "sandy bridge".
Dual cores chug a lot even in basic tasks like using a browser or opening the file explorer. I would recommend 4 cores minimum.
How? There is no chip that's 30% faster while maintaining the same wattage.
If you are using upscaling, then it's not 4K anymore. Nothing wrong with rendering at a lower resolution. I think cleaned up 1080p looks good enough for me, I wouldn't call that 4K.
RTX 4080 is 50% Faster than RTX 3080.
The msrp is 71% higher too.
I mean, it tells you right in the name it's zen 2. The actual issue is it's 4 cores despite being ryzen 5. The 7320u also has 4 cores.
