It's not. The Chinese government is an abusive autocracy that doesn't respect the "rights" of its people and answers to nothing and no one other than Xi and profits and power. Those three things are king.

Marxists and fascists are two sides of the same coin. They may have somewhat different end goals, but they're alike in having zero regard for the democratic will of the people. May every Hexbear troll be accursed.

I've yet to see any evidence that there was some orchestrated agenda against Bernie. Sure, all the moderates probably did drop out so that moderate Biden could win against Bernie. What's wrong with that? Isn't that sort of implicitly how it works and should work? They made a choice that sacrified their own candidacy for the sake of advancing their policy goals (through Biden).

Nor have I seen any evidence that the DNC orchestrated some sting against Bernie in 2016 - the most that ever came out of that leaked trove of DNC emails were some DNC staff saying they wanted Hillary to win - not that they were going to take any action to make that happen.

Because Nano just works. Vim is insane affront to good design and standards.

Socialism can be good if the government doesn't have to resort to totalitarianism to enforce it - and when has that ever happened? Rarely. Rarely.

Cuba did some good things - in education, in medicine - but if it's such a wonderful country, why is everything there a decaying flashback to the 1950s where everything is falling apart?

Not practically possible for most people. Forcing users to jump through a bunch of hoops to have basic control over what content they have access to is not a winning formula for Lemmy.

I would vastly prefer this over the sh.itjust.works admins defederating from them. I don't like the people on Hexbear, but I also don't like admins getting to control what their users do and don't have access to.

It was a stupid failure of engineering, but focusing on the enviromnetalism aspect of the explosion is not particularly rational.

One small area of Texas coast getting a little bit of damage from some flying concrete and a big explosion is absolutely nothing compared to what oil companies, cars and trucks, and a million other polluters do every single day all over the world.

I don't get it. Why is this a risk to you? The material isn't being hosted on your server; your users are just accessing it via your server. If someone accesses illegal content, is their ISP going to be shut down because they provided that user access? No.
