Well to be fair I was kind of advocating violence (albeit in defence of self or others). Fair enough cop, no worries.

Update: I can see the pinned post(s) now. Tesseract via lazysoci.al.

Men's sweaters are usually warmer and more comfy. I love them. (SO hates that I love them.)

We might indeed be agreeing vociferously! 😆

Well you suck enough that you came into a space that was explicitly listed as "women-only" and "please only women comment or reply" and expressed your butthurt view. This clearly demonstrates the degree of respect you show women's choices; why should we not look askance at your other choices in life?

Also, given that this very objection has been addressed AT LEAST THREE TIMES IN THIS FATHERMUCKING SET OF THREADS ALONE it appears that you don't actually care enough about the opinions of women to actually READ WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY, indicating—again—that your disdain for women kind of puts you into the "sucks" crowd.

Have a nice day. Don't post here again.

I didn't say that groups shouldn't reclaim slurs for themselves. (I mean I use "queer" myself, or when I feel especially spicy I'll use some of the more ugly slurs of "Asians".)

I'm saying that as a non-member I won't use slurs to "reclaim" them. They're not mine to reclaim and the process is fraught with too many chances of hurting people.

My policy with any minority is to not use slurs of any kind, "reclaimed" or otherwise. Precisely because the ethics and social dance around reclaimed slurs is very complicated and very easy to fuck up.

And there's no need for them. Anything that a slur, "reclaimed" or otherwise, says can be said without the "reclaimed" slur.

I addressed this elsewhere in the ensuing shitstorm. It's a question of risk management.

Yeah, I added a few more bugs into my Cornell Drawers from this.

I really am very sorry for posting this at some level. I thought it was a good take on the thought experiment (further enhanced by some pretty nifty artwork). But really, just mentioning the meme is enough to get all the CHUDs out of the sewers and into the comments and I should have known better.

You don't want the answer, trust me.With an itheberg.

Text:

Panel 1 Man and woman in office clothes in a break room.

Man: So, if you were alone in a forest, would you rather run into a strange man… or a bear?

Panel 2 Woman: Oh, hmm… I think the bear.

Man (angry): How can you say that?

(Bear looking quizzically through the window)

Panel 3 Man (angry): You're demonizing men! It's misandry!

Panel 4 Woman: Good point. Why would I ever hear men's reactions?

Man: Exactly! …where did the honey go?

Panel 5 Woman and bear sharing tea

Woman: At least if you maul me, pepper won't say I made it up or I'm misinterpreting.

Bear: I hear you

I've found my Halloween getup (presuming I can get it in my size!):

A mannequin displays an elaborate gothic-inspired outfit set against a shimmering silver tinsel backdrop. The ensemble features a deep red, faux leather corset adorned with black spikes at chest level and silver grommets down the front, fastened at the bottom with metal clasps. The corset is paired with a matching ruched mini skirt made of a stretchy, semi-sheer mesh fabric, gathered with black eyelets and rings. Draped over the shoulders is a dramatic black satin and lace bolero with voluminous bell sleeves, trimmed with ruffled red chiffon. Accessories include a large silver rose pendant at the neck, layered black bead chains, a wide belt with a large metal O-ring, and an ankh charm. To the left, a black Christmas tree decorated with white skulls and silver tinsel adds to the dark, theatrical atmosphere.
