Aber ich denke bei ähnlichen Bedingungen und ähnlicher Sorte ist das wenig überraschend!

It's about control. Websites cannot control the browser or browser addons. The browser makes it harder to track and control the user. An app by definition allows more hardware access, even if modern mobile OS can control it pretty good. But then again, most users allow everything anyways.
Haven't actually done this with Flatpak, but I know it can be a pain.
I see flathub lists an makemkv add-on for VLC - is that installed? I'm not sure what codecs the VLC flatpak even includes or if it suffers from the same licensing restrictions.
