None of the executives are motivated first by class warfare. They're motivated by short term share value increases - which invariably causes the kind of pains which pushes everyone towards class warfare, IMO.

Couldn't we design an "onboarder" where when you get started on lemmy, a "let's get you started" wizard asks you 2 or 3 questions and based on your answers, it proposes 2 or 3 servers (or directly assigns you to one)?

The company never took off.. Never could get over the hump.

Here's the horrible hiccup: however legitimate a judge and their decision is, it's only as relevant as it's enforced. And if the enforcer in chief says "fuck you and your ruling" and puts the judges in prison, what then?

These days I'm wondering if reality is real, so...

Poor man is basically living Ricky Gervais' "after life" IRL...

Comme on, Democrats, run someone in every fuckin district of every fuckin state and just run excerpts of this fucker on repeat, s maybe victory in the house and Senate in two years - is there still are elections by then - will be the only way these shitstains might be stopped

But there was a massive amount of coverage on how disliked Bush was (man, in fucking comparison...) whereas op's post is about how major the protest is vs. how little coverage there is of it.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but no fucking way it's a wakeup call: the majority of Americans have no idea of the nauseating stuff that makes you feel like you're having a stroke in the middle of the twilight zone. The level of curated 100% individualized echo chambers everyone around you is exposed to is massively underestimated. Everyone is in an algorithmiclly designed, perpetually-improving news and info echosystem basically designed to keep them engaged and hooked... They DONT SEE WHAT YOU SEE... How do you wake them up if you don't share the same reality?

Oh that's the most vile and gut wrenchingly nauseating comment i read all year. Well done and well said.

"We need to be fighting nepotism, not implementing DEI policies that replace one form of favoritism with another"

Sure, except no DEI policy worth its salt ever does that. Day 1 on the job in actual DEI, the difference between tokenism and inclusion is taught, and a policy or practice where unqualified people are put in positions solely because of their identity are not DEI policies.

It's about giving equal access and opportunity to equally qualified diverse candidates that, because of systemic biases and obstacles, they wouldn't have had access to.

Saying "we need a guy on a wheelchair in the legal team, to look good, so hire this guy without a law degree" is dumb tokenism.

Saying "hey now that we don't do 'jog-and-talk' interviews on the 14th floor of a building without an elevator, we were able to interview and hire Joe, a great lawyer in a wheelchair" is implementing a basic DEI change.

Decently done DEI is about making it easier to select the most qualified talent from a qualified, talented and diverse slate of candidates.

NOTE: I don't think you seemed to disagree with the above, it was just funny to me that you started highlighting the false dilemma, then articulated another one :)
