I fish for rock bass all the time.

They're "reviewing" the petition.

On my "John the Fisherman" fishing playlist.

I find using a combination of AdAway and AFWall+ on android to be effective in blocking a lot of stuff. I run as root.

Thanks. I couldn't find the agenda.

I use dropshot a lot but I'm usually using bait and from a boat and for panfish (yellow perch, bluegill/pumpkin seed, rock bass, etc). I have also used it with plastic grubs and finesse worms.

Having said that, drop shot is fairly basic. I usually use light line (5lb test flurocarbon) with a swivel snap tied at the end and a 1 or 2 oz sinker attached to that.

For a hook I just use what looks to be the right size. While I do have specialty drop shot hooks, I often tie a regular one on the line with a dropper loop knot cinched tight to the main line (there is also a drop shot rig knot - like a surf knot).

Any pole can be used - it's a question of the fish and your preferences. Cost-wise, it's comparable to fishing with a bobber/slip-bobber.

Yes. While it hasn't been widely known, it's continuing and they're heading towards a vote.

Why should this bother you? If you are a radio amateur it should be a grave concern that a band which has provided the “glue” for so many vital services over many decades might come under threat, and if you are not a radio amateur it should concern you that a commercial defence contractor in one country can so easily set in motion the degradation of a globally open resource governed by international treaties penned in your grandparents’ time.

Ambioplites rupestris is commonly know as a rock bass:

Yup - communities.

Maybe for Baofengs but I was going to copy my Baofeng's programming to Chirp on a new computer. I grabbed 2 cables which I thought were Baofeng and it turned out neither were. I'm not home so I'll have to wait.

Why do all those HT (AnyTone, Baofeng) programming cables have to not only look alike but are also almost always unlabeled?

My Wouxon is the same type but it is a totally diffident color so kudos to those folks. Everyone else, slap your damn name on it!

All:

As the mod for this community I just wanted to drop this note:

A community purportedly a clone of an overtly political, fascistic, misogynistic, and trolling subreddit was set up on this instance and, as a result, there has been discussion in the greater fediverse to defederate sh.itjust.works.

When I am a net control station, as when I'm operating any radio, I do not discuss politics and follow good amateur practice. When I was a kid I was taught that the hobby was to facilitate emergency communications, enhance technical progress, and promote international goodwill. I'm firmly of the opinion politics messes up that last point, in particular.

While, I don't want our hobby affiliated with hateful and violent content, I also want discussion to reach as broad an audience as possible. To that end, defederation would be unacceptable. Should sh.itjust.works be defederated I will be terminating my account and moving elsewhere. Should someone else choose to be a mod, I'll leave it up to you to decide but I will not be sticking around and will either delete this community (if possible), set up another amateur_radio community, or join an already existing one.

I appreciate you understanding and consideration.
