What's also crazy is despite rates going up, housing prices aren't going down, they're still going up. There is so much capital accumulated by the few, that even if the market dictates unfavorable deals for the common man, the massive capital holders honestly couldn't give a shit cause they can just buy everything up anyways. We're already reaching record levels of apartments/condos/SFH being owned by large corporate holdings and just renting them out.

With all the money pumped into the market because of COVID, I really don't know how the Fed can get itself out of this situation without seeing a severe economic crash. It's just a matter of if they will continue to put the economy on life support for an even bigger fall, or just let it happen whenever it comes.

I think it's more about maintaining superiority as the unilateral world superpower. Can't let anyone else come into a position to threaten western hegemony. The military industrial complex profits are just the icing on the cake.

Can't wait for the neolib astroturfing to make it's way here too

Value/JSONOBJECT error happens to me constantly. usually when navigating to comments, a community,a post by someone from their profile, etc. Probably the biggest blocker to using the app right now.

I'll be logged in, but when attempting to subscribe to a community or adding a comment, I get an error "login first". I just went back to the account drop-down and reselected my account and am now able to make this comment. I'll often come back to the app and see my account and login info is gone, and I have to re-add them and re-login

Honestly we're all adults here and we all know how the Internet works. Best to not feed the trolls and ignore them. The more attention you give the more it gives the appearances that their rhetoric has validity. Just move on and let's all focus on making a better fediverse for all

Ukrainian soldiers are also complaining about lack of ammunition and are fielding. T-55s. While Russia has a much larger geographical and raw resource base to rely on to build new Equipment, Ukraine does not have that luxury (but does have western support). So if Putins statements about increasing production of military equipment 3x-10x are accurate projections, I can see why they still think they can keep going.

The ability to swipe away posts, or collapse out all the 'read' posts was awesome for browsing

Not losing much if you get banned, I decided to name-drop Lemmy as well. I encourage everyone to mention it or whatever their favorite fediverse instance is.

It's time for social media to stop being ran by for profit corporations, it's just inevitable for them to ruin shit for the sake of slightly increasing quarterly profits

I just think his brain is slow and it takes that time to find a comment he's willing to respond to, and then regurgitates the statements from the OP

Yep, think of the math like this:

1000 users that we can get $1 of profit from totalling $1000 profit

Or 500 users we can get $3 of profit from totalling $1500 profit.

$1500 > $1000 Therefore it's a good decision.

Welcome to the mind of corporate executives

Relay dev said the same thing. It's like even if I wanted to use Reddit on mobile, I can't because the main app is literally unusable.

We'll probably see a lot of traffic to Lemmy by then. Hope the servers are ready to handle an influx.
