The clean sentence structure should have been a dead giveaway. My bad.

For sure. At this point, real or false flag are both plausible. Folks like Trump wouldn't bat an eye at killing off a couple supporters if he could spin it for a positive gain.

I'm mostly just waiting on info on the gunman to draw a conclusion. Is he the kind of person who'd want Trump dead, or the kind of person who'd agree to shoot at the crowd behind Trump for a fat paycheck?

If the former, it's too bad he missed.

Some old Pastafarian: "Uuuuse the forks!"

White House erupts into a giant mushroom cloud. Like, literal mushrooms, and trace amounts of marinara and noodles.

I mean, no one in a crowd supporting a domestic threat to our constitution is an innocent bystander; but ignoring that, killing off one of his own peons to get the media stirred up in an advantageous way is 100% in character for Trump. He doesn't give a fuck about any one member of his cult.

Leaning toward false flag as well. It feels very scripted. I'd wager the dying bit wasn't part of the gunman's agreement.

HyperX Cloud Alpha is the most comfortable I've used - could wear those all day, no pressure points. Sound quality is fantastic, largely due to the closed-back design.

And if you're not already familiar with the difference between open- and closed-back headphones, definitely learn it! Something not often discussed in headset articles is how YOU sound when wearing them. It's a bit weird to describe, but you ofc hear yourself when you speak, and something that alters how you're supposed to sound can be jarring as fuck.

The you sound when you speak without having anything on your head or in your ears, would be most comparable to open-back headphones.

If you plug your ears and then speak, you'll sound weird, and hearing yourself sound weird can make speaking feel weird.

...idk if I'm doing a good job putting this to words. For real, just stick your fingers in your ears and start saying a few sentences, you'll hear what I mean.

I did NOT know the difference when I got my HyperX's, and it took a while to get used to speaking with them on. Had I known the difference, I probably would have looked for an open-back model instead. I love em now, but again it did take a bit to get there.

Even if he goes full and permanent vegetable, he's still not Trump. Top priority is stopping Orange Hitler from taking control again, so please for the love of human rights, vote for whoever has the the best shot at beating him - if that's Biden, cool. If it's Harris, cool. If it's a literal ham sandwich, fucking fine - all three are orders of magnitude more qualified to do the job then Trump.

why is that lassie not your president?

She needs to be about a century older, white, male, sell out to corporations, and shed her sense of ethics.

Then maybe, if the GOP is running enough of a Nazi.

Seems like a good spot for this:

Nonviolence works the same way: if you're engaging with someone / some group who isn't violent, there's an expectation that you'll also remain nonviolent. If they pull a gun on you and you happen to be packing (and a quick shot) and shoot em dead, that does NOT bring you down to their level.

Originally planned to slowly whittle away at the stream of topics hitting local and all so that the ones I'm not interested in don't appear. Couple weeks into that, and I'm noticing communities I've blocked are still showing up. Figured it was a similarly named community on another instance, so I navigated to it to hit the block button, but there's a big red "unblock community" button instead, so this one's definitely already on the list.

Is this working as intended? And if yes, what is blocking aimed to do?

I primarily use Firefox, and DuckDuckGo - I occaisionally switch to Google when I need to whip out some boolean search criteria that DuckDuckGo doesn't support.

Anyway -

I'm picking away at some prerequisites for nursing school, so I'm searching obscure academic crap all the time to try to figure what the hell my professors are talking about.

Invariably, my results are absolutely saturated with websites like "chegg" that are basically databases of test questions and answers for students seeking to cheat. The classes I'm taking now are directly applicable to nursing, so I don't want to just float through these ones - I need to really learn this stuff (or rather, my future patients need me to actually know my shit).

I'd like to completely remove chegg and similar websites from ALL of my search results.

I know I can use -"chegg.com" with Google, but there are like 30 similar services and I'd prefer not to type all that in every time I do a search.

Outside of academics, there are plenty of other websites I'd love to never see again too, like quora, anything by Meta, etc.

What'd be a good option to make this happen?

Don't want anyone browsing the Play Store to be misled!

Iphone users, I'm assuming your version of the play store is in similar need of some upkeep.

The review comment would be a good place to pitch the fediverse, too.

I’m hoping to design a logo that that is recognizable as both the archtype of healer from the context of gaming; but also as a symbol for the irl field of medicine.

I know I’ve seen some awesome examples in the past, but now that I’m actively looking for them, all I’m finding are a bunch of crosses, potion bottles, etc.

The one that stands out as a good example is Skyrim’s school of restoration logo:

^reminiscent of the Caduceus, which is universally recognized irl; but also uniquely Skyrim’s.

That said, Skyrim’s is kinda just a bird: hoping to find more intricate samples so that I can steal and combine the bits I like.

If you know of any cool healer logos from a videogame, please point me to it!

Thanks all!
