I've been wondering when Russia would take the gloves off and send in Segal. I guess after the government collapsed.

I think he left Damascus before homs fell.

The military didn't really seem like they wanted to fight for a dictator that already abdicated his throne.

I think we just get to wait and see. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I have no idea. It was titled something like "rebels take over Damascus airport". Then I went on flight radar and saw the airplane taking off with no destination set.

I can't verify how "real" it is other than I saw it on social media right before that airplane took off and saved it. Everything today moved pretty quickly.

Personally I don't think Assad was on that flight.

Edit: here is the source according to my browser history

I watched that live. The video from the airport a few minutes before was surreal.

Mod handled that super poorly and doubled down on being wrong... Honestly it's a master class on what not to do.

If you are banned from blahaj (or any other instance) your posts here will not federate on that instance. The refederation applies to the community not individual users or CDRMITTENS. That would need to be addressed by them with the other Lemmy instances admin team.

So to be clear if you use blahaj to view ncd you will still not see posts by CDRMITTENS until he appeals his ban with them.

Talking with ada this seemed to be a poorly handled miscommunication. Ada and her mod team are not selectively removing our content but they have banned some of our more active posters and this is the source of the original drama.

I was thinking more along the line of user bans. Usually from what I gather they end up mailing all the mods to figure out why they are banned. It creates extra work that could probably be avoided.

Unbanning users from a community is a whole process in itself as well since you have to find a post they made.

Moderators of the community can see what mod did what action. I don't think users can. It should at least show the user that was "moderated" what mod did the action so they know who to complain to first.

I propose de-anonymising the moderators names in the mod log for transparency.

On Blahaj drama (sh.itjust.works)

The community is currently refederated with the blahaj instance. Going forward issues like this are to be addressed at first in a less public way if possible...

There is no reason for our communities to have a beef we both basically advocate for the same things in our own way.

For transparency I unremoved all the removed comments with one exception in the other thread and locked it... ๐Ÿฟ I also removed any bans that resulted from that thread.

Ada pretty much fully explained the original issue:

Blahaj zone admin here. Thereโ€™s quite a bit of confusion and misunderstanding in this thread.

No one is โ€œselectively removing NCD contentโ€ or anything close to it.

What happened is that 6 months ago, CDRMITTENS was instance banned from lemmy.blahaj.zone over an anti Palestinian meme they posted. You can see the mod log for that here https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/modlog?postId=11419938. This meme conflated Hamas and Palestinians in general, and basically blamed Palestinians for their own genocide. Notably, the post also broke NCD rules 2 and 5, but wasnโ€™t removed by NCD mods.

As a result of CDRMITTENS being instance banned, none of their content reaches lemmy.blahaj.zone anymore. You can see that for yourself here https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/u/[email protected], which shows that no content from this user has reached blahaj.zone. There was no selective removal or editing of content at play, because none of their content reached blahaj.zone to be able to selectively remove it.

tl;dr - Itโ€™s just an instance ban, not selective moderation

So let's all be friendly again. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ On a final note Estiar and neidu have been added to the mod team.

[meta] housekeeping community update (self.noncredibledefense)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Shit to c/noncredibledefense

Meta housekeeping update the last one for a while I hope:

I have made the following people mods from last week's vote on [email protected].

@[email protected]

@[email protected]

@[email protected]

@[email protected]

@[email protected]

On the second vote regarding reddit mod team integration. I reached out to the two mods on Lemmy.

I have made @[email protected] a mod. The other mod @[email protected] has not responded but I did inform him he would need to post in this community to be made a mod due to Lemmy limitations.

Ideally there are enough mods that there should not be much work between them. I have not given any of them directions on what to do I'm sure they will sort it out and hopefully not over moderate. They have my permission to do whatever they think is the best action. Please send me a pm if this experiment goes off the rails...

On the meta/vote community we used [email protected] it will be transferred to @[email protected] and turned into it's original purpose of being a community for minipc discussion. This is planned for August 31st at the latest and ideally sooner if there is no drama about the vote counts or whatever...

If you notice some kind of problems with the mod team please send me a pm. If you can include a screenshot.

Anyways it's been fun I'm going to step back to lurking mode and try not to constantly check Lemmy.

I have medical issues so will most likely be way less active/around pretty soon. I want some community input before that happens.

Please vote/keep discussion here: [email protected]
