I've studied the bible to see what the fuss is about but I'm not religious. Now I have this knowledge in my head that I'm compelled to use when I'm bored.

So yeah, I'm basically pulling an☝️🤓 AcShUaLlY on this sort of discussion because I have nothing else to do right now

The 7 deadly sins are never mentioned in the bible. They were discussed by a few different people but made popular by Pope Gregory 1st in 590 AD. So therefore are an invention of the church and need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Pride especially is the most stupid one. Should Jhonny not be proud of his skills? Should one not be proud of anything to be able to go into heaven? If you earn a gold medal at a sport would you go to hell for saying that you were the best athlete?

And can we be sure that Jhonny accepted the bet because of greed for the fiddle? Could it not be necessity? Could it not be convenience or simply confidence in his skills?

Ultimately it's just a story created for a song so the specifics don't matter.

The point I'm making is that the 7 deadly sins are stupid and people should stop referencing them

What's to see?

I wish people would see past the idea that millionaires are evil people (and yeah they are), and understand that the root of this issue is on the economic/governmental system that allows people to hoard this much wealth

Yes it's dystopian as fuck how much money he's able to make. But that's not a result of him being evil or something. That's a result of how the advertisement Industry works.

He's just a guy that mastered the YouTube game and is doing what he's good at. He could retire or take a more relaxed work routine and still be a millionaire. But he works a lot to make more YouTube content because he likes it.

I don't like Mr. Beast. But don't think he's doing anything unethical

Doesn't matter how much you bomb Mexico. If there is a demand for drugs there will be a supply. No matter the price. A drug addict will do ANYTHING to get it

Cutting the supply would only work if you're somehow able to cut almost all supply for 30 years straight, until the currently addicted people die off or sort themselves out

To stop the drugs you need to stop the demand for drugs. Treat addicts instead of arresting them. And oh my god stop prescribing literal Opioids as "treatment"

The point here is not that this comment hurts trump in some way. But that it hurts democracy. It favors violence over reason.

Many believe that the world might be better if trump was dead, but on the other side, if assassination is an acceptable solution to politics then democracy is destroyed.

The people that are against Trump are also against fascism. And supporting his murder is contradictory and essentially hurts your own cause.

Choosing to be fair and respectful to your enemy is the best course of action. Even though it might be extremely frustrating.

No, it means "Sea to lake"

The sentences of the bible are written in a certain context. If you remove it from this context and try really hard to make connections, you can loosen it's definition enough and distort it's meaning enough to fit anything you want

[–] Shampiss 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

IMO this Interpretation is straight up incorrect

This is a symptom of "If you want it hard enough, you can find anything where there is nothing"

but the fatal wound had been healed.

Hello!? There was no fatal wound. And it was not healed. The text doesn't fit.

Supposedly god put those words in the mind of a Christian man 2000 years ago. He wrote it down. Several other people copied the text by hand. The original works were lost. When the bible was translated to english it was based on the copied content from other translations in German, latin, and Hebrew. No translation was made from the original language since there's no source available.

Why is god so fuckeng sloppy with the text that literally represents his existence and the only path of salvation of all human souls?? (people who he supposedly love)

"Say Polemarchus, what is your definition of justice?"

There are not many occasions where someone would accept a fish as a gift. But having a mechanic say "Gift a fish" is pretty funny

Pulls existence from the void

This point is highly dependent on whether or not you believe there is some sort of soul or existence before birth. I cannot argue on this point since this is pure belief, so I will accept your view for the sake of the discussion

Questions how not doing so could have prevented suffering

You could say it prevents suffering, but it also prevents Joy, Love, Friendship. Sure it also prevents Sadness and Grief and so on. It prevents everything by way of not giving life a chance.

If you think you cannot provide a happy life to your children then it's perfectly valid to not want children. But it's egoistic to think that other people should not have kids because of your own world view.

Many Antinatalists believe that life in the current world is filled with so much suffering that it's not worth being born.

But that's like... Your opinion man! Let people make their own choices

I don't think that this is AI. In fact I'm curious to how it was made
