Yeah would've been nice if Cake Wallet would've used Monero.com for something like this what you're saying, other than their dumb wallet, but here we are..
Anyway I think this getmonero.org is more than enough for people to get their feet wet. Pointing them to an exhaustive source right away is too overwhelming.
However, I do share your sentiment for an exhaustive Monero information aggregator and learning center. Monerica comes to mind, but i think it's mostly focused on the circular economy.

monero bros don't want things to get too centralized, that's the issue. creating sources of trust isn't a very good idea if it can be avoided.
however, the idea of an exhaustive info and link aggregator is a really good idea imo
