What you're describing is actually collagen filler, not botox. If you botoxed your lips you'd end up with a serious speech impediment for a few months. Back in the day we used to call it the "Leslie Ash special", after a celeb who had a particularly disasterous one done.

Okay, own up, which one of you was it?

YouTube shorts was the dumbest fucking idea. They have a niche: long-form (as in >1min) video content. They are dominant in that niche. Then they saw TikTok was popular and dominating the short-form video scene, and their response was... "we should switch to making more short form". WTF?! And on top of that, they've diverted resources away from their main product (longer videos) as the article says. It just seems like such a catastrophic unforced error.

Yes, now that it has become a marketable product, the term "AI" feels like a buzzword due to overuse. But in actual fact it is still being used (by most vendors) consistent with how it has been used for like 40 years. ML, video game opponents, chess engines: all of these have been referred to as "AI" for at least that long. Anyone who thinks that calling GPT or Stable Diffusion "AI" started "five minutes ago" (or even that it is in any way novel) has to be someone whose only exposure to the concept of "AI" has been through Sci-Fi movies, and not the actual, real field of AI that has been developing for decades. It is, therefore, a very clear signal that the person knows fuck all about the subject and so cannot possibly form a valid opinion. It's just a generic angry response.

And frankly, I think ChatGPT would do a better job of that than the author of the article. At least we wouldn't be wasting actual, valuable, human brain resources making this drivel.

Which about five minutes ago was precisely what the term ‘artificial intelligence’ meant, but since tech companies managed to dumb down and rebrand ‘AI’ to mean “anything utilizing a machine-learning algorithm”,

Oh look, the universal signal for "please ignore me, I am a simpleton".

I had no idea that all these years (up until "five minutes ago") I had been playing video games against human-level artificial intelligences 🙄

I'd respond to the rest of it, but there's no point, she doesn't have the first clue what she's talking about. To quote Shakespeare: "it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Also, he invented JavaScript. He got on my shitlist permanently for that alone.

We're in the Europa League, I can't bloody believe it! Roll on September, hope we get a good group pick.

Good. I hope he gets a fair trial, followed by a guilty verdict and a long fucking sentence. His victims need justice and he needs to be made an example of, to put the fear of the law into his brain-dead followers if nothing else will work.

The Labour chief whip Alan Campbell positioned himself right next to Commons speaker to shout repeatedly “no no” when the Speaker Lindsay Hoyle asked whether MPs supported the Boris Johnson report.

His shouts triggered the vote.

Absolutely legendary politi-trolling. The Labour chief whip wasn't really objecting. He definitely voted aye. He just wanted to force every single Tory present to go on record as being for or against BoJo.
