Two things:
The controversy reached a disturbing peak on 6 June, when a man slapped a four-month-old baby on the head, claiming he had mistaken the infant for one of the dolls. He is out on bail, and the baby is reportedly doing well.
And:
The wave of controversy appears to have been ridden by politicians on the right: according to the news website UOL, all bills presented in May concerning reborn dolls were proposed by rightwing and far-right lawmakers.
βIf a topic is trending, these politicians will propose laws about it even if they make no sense,β said Kalil, who also coordinates a research group about the Brazilian far right.
She highlights the timing: the countryβs leading far-right figure, former president Jair Bolsonaro, is now on trial for an attempted coup and, after a prior ruling by the electoral court, is already barred from standing in next yearβs elections.
βSo there is also an element of grabbing attention and pushing an agenda, especially when the right wing camp is in crisis over Bolsonaroβs trial and no one knows who will emerge as their new leader,β she said.

Am I the only one who finds these things magical? I love mycology and no one can convince me itβs not somehow related to the fae. (J/k just in case anyone who hates woo woo in their science sees this, but itβs fun to imagine thatβs what medieval people probably thought).

First, Iβd like to say how much I appreciate the Thunder app. It had been overall great!
Lately, just in the past couple days, Iβve been having problems with it showing some images. Most noticeable is the Hexbear stickers.
This is what it looks like on my mobile browser:
And this is how it looks in the Thunder app lately:
As you can see, it isnβt all of them, only some of them that wonβt show. It seems like it is only happening in more recent posts, and seems to be mostly the hexbear stickers, but it also seems like some articlesβ thumbnails and some uploaded pictures are broken too.
I was wondering if this was happening to others, if thereβs a quick fix I could try, or if anyone knows the issue before I submit it as a bug on GitHub. Thanks!
Edit: Can I get some feedback on the downvotes? Is it just because you guys donβt like Hexbear? Because thatβs one of the reasons I use Thunder. If itβs something else, like this is a dumb question or βduh, thatβs a bug, why not just submit it?β, please let me know. Iβm just trying to do the right thing and not waste anyoneβs time.
