It was triggered today… and has had only two false positives since 1959.

What most people don’t know is that the economist who coined the term, Claudia Sahm, proposed this rule as a way to warn governments to allow them to preemptively send out stimulus to their population lol.

The Sahm rule originates from a chapter in the Brookings Institution's report on the use of fiscal policy to stabilize the economy during recessions.

(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahm_Rule#cite_note-2)The chapter, written by Sahm, proposes fiscal policy to automatically send stabilizing payments to citizens to boost economic well-being. Instead of relying on human intuition to determine when such payments should be sent, Sahm outlines a condition to trigger the payments.

(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahm_Rule#cite_note-:1-3) The trigger suggested indicates an economy beginning a recession and is now known as the Sahm rule. The Sahm rule recession indicator was also featured early in a Goldman Sachs U.S. economic research report by economist William C. Dudley with a recommended trigger of 0.33%

(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahm_Rule#cite_note-4) (the nowadays more commonly used rule triggers a recession signal when the Sahm metric is crossing above 0.5%).

Perfectly reasonable response from a responsible pet owner.

There are plenty of arguments to be had without manufacturing them. This is just one persons poor attempt at trolling? lol either they are a loser or just not very intelligent. Likely both, but everything is a spectrum.

Nothing you’ve said makes sense or is relevant.

Did it sound right in your head before you typed it? Lol

I thought this was satire…but nope, lol.

There really are people just as insufferable as you.

As dismissive your response is…Wishing away the practical aspects of what I said, by looking at everything from an ideal perspective, doesn’t change real world application and results.

I could likely solve many world problems if human nature wasn’t a factor.

Sorry but this is just such a weak ass article which you can only assume was ai generated and reviewed by someone who was either too lazy or stupid to care.

Nothing new, useful or interesting. We are all very much aware of the major issues at hand and it really sucks, but to basically write an article that can be summed up in a single sentence: “Lake habitats are different than oceans or rivers because species cannot go anywhere else”.

Just lazy all around.

Also this:

Steps to reduce lake warming

Tackling lake warming requires both individual and collective action. Here are some steps to mitigate this issue:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by using energy-efficient appliances and renewable energy.
  • Support afforestation and reforestation projects, as trees absorb CO2. Implement green infrastructure like green roofs and urban forests to lower temperatures.
  • Enhance water conservation efforts by fixing leaks and using water-saving fixtures. Advocate for clean energy policies and international agreements like the Paris Agreement. Increase public awareness through community programs and education.
  • Support research and monitoring of lake temperatures. Protect wetlands and riparian zones to absorb heat and pollutants.
