She can apply but it doesn't mean she'll get it. It's being expanded to allow consideration for mental conditions. There's still a ton of hoops and second opinions needed to get approved.

There is way too much misinformation and sensationalism over MAID

This start to the summer has just been crap. It's been cyclically too hot, then too rainy, then too dry and then too fiery. I guess this will just become the new normal for Ottawa as the climate emergency really takes hold.

Honestly I'm sure a lot (or at least some) of the reddit employees who have been there for longer feel the same way as we do. I can imagine if you joined back when reddit was open source or even shortly after, seeing reddit go down this path would be upsetting.

I know if my company decided to screw over our users this badly, my morale would be non existant. Most people don't have that much loyalty to their companies and reddit would be no different

Congrats Toronto! I'm jealous you guys got to actually vote in someone progressive (I'm from Ottawa and we recently voted to slightly lower property taxes over everything else)

I've never heard of us being referred to as festival city lol

It's pretty nice if you're into programming articles! I wouldn't say it's a full reddit replacement since it's more geared to programmers, similar to hacker news but I think it's worth having around. There's also a decent mobile app for iOS called Claw

Thank you so much! Do you want a lobste.rs invite?

I'd also love an invite as well if anyone has one. I can return the favour with an invite to lobste.rs :)

If a federated wiki could replace fandom.com I would be so happy. That site is a nightmare of ads on mobile and needs to be replaced.

I didn't know this wasn't already banned... I guess I'm happy it is now

It'd be hilarious to see them try to hand your own personal page to a random other person to moderate. It makes no sense

These spam bots wouldn't list themselves as bots so that wouldn't work
