What the f?

I have 100% Uptime and i Update my shit twice a week

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Last 90 Days 100% Uptime. And before anyone says => Do Updates:

I do Updates twice a week, got everything in a high availability setup so i dont have any downtime when updating.

3 ISP Connections + Online Reverseproxy helps aswell to keep 100% when one ISP goes down

You need to use your public ip and forward the port for it to work.

If you only want to resolve it internally you have to host the dns server and make every Device use your dns

Powerline is the last resort in Networking.

Cable > WiFi > Powerline.

In some cases it works (new cables and within 1 circiut) but usually its more headache than anything else.

But dont worrys we all did shit and wonder why it didnt work.

Just be glad you were not called to a datacenter and started tracing all fibers just to realize that a single stupid uplink is 1 gbit instead of 40 gbit

Bad cable.

Tcp works cause of error correction (speed test).

Udp do not work, cause no error correction.

You didnt play with values like mtu etc right?

Thats why hosting your own shit without a fallback subnet is a nogo.

I hope your hosting for some free communitys and not for people that pay.

I would be MAD as fuck, if my hoster would end up on a Blacklist with their WHOLE fucking subnet

Why would you need a vpn?

-privacy? Your traffic is https encrypted anyways.

-bypass geo restriction is the only reason i can think of, but that doesnt improve your network. In fact it makes it worse

Any dashboard that can use links?!

And a password Manager for the login credentials?

Publish their Name lol.

In such cases i dont see it as giving companys a bad time, but protecting your fellow selfhosters / Users

Hey Guys.

I need your help.

Iam currently searching for a Software for my IP Security cams.

After looking and testing several solutions from here: https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted#video-surveillance I still need your help

-Bluecherry => Meh license costs something

-Frigate => exactly what iam looking for, but i dont use Homeassistant...

-Kerberos => Pretty heavy but pretty good documented + nice Features

-Zoneminder => Looks pretty solid aswell.

Is anyone of you using one of the solutions above and if so, do you like it? And are there Features that are missing / that you dont like.

Iam currently thinking about using either

-Installing Homeassistant and using Frigate

Or

-Go with Kerberos

Thanks for your suggestions
