For home routers with just one external ip address, remote address makes no sense, but if you have 10 public it's then the Nat requires from what public ip you want to do the Nat a.k.a. remote address

For that, use dns challenge and get a let's encrypt cert. Then, in your pihole or dns solution point the public domain to a private ip.
