Hello! Those of you who bring a charcoal grill with you camping, how do you dispose of the ashes?

That's where I first noticed it too, trying to turn RCS on. Do you have a 6a as well or a different model?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

I think that was tied to having multiple user accounts on the phone but you know it wouldn’t surprise me

Don't really know how to explain what's going on so I took a video. When I'm in a Google app, and I click on my profile picture in the top left to switch between Google accounts, I see this recommended actions notification basically flashing. I'm not hitting any buttons or touching the screen. It makes it really difficult to switch between accounts. I've tried seeing what the recommended actions are but there aren't actually any. I've tried removing unused accounts and clearing the cache and data of the Google app but it still does it. Anyone know what's going on?

Nice! Glad you were able to save your settings!

I really wish I could remember what I did. I was messing with it during my lunch break, trying a bunch of different things, and then it started working again. Hopefully you can find a solution that doesn't require reinstalling!

Hey I noticed this earlier this week too but I can't remember what I did exactly to correct this. I think I reinstalled the app but I'm not sure. But yeah, something weird is going on and you're not alone.

I took a look over there but couldn't find anything like this but did find some cool stuff. Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I'm getting into collecting for the Xbox 360, and with the announcement that the Xbox Marketplace is shutting down on 360, I wanted to see if there were physical versions of normally downloadable arcade games I could grab. I did find this list here (https://collectorsedition.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5310) but was wondering if there are any more. Thanks!

I used to be so afraid to leave my consoles on as a kid. I remember that there was something in super smash brothers melee that you could unlock I guess through play time and this one kid was like "just start a match with max lives and let it run over night." And I was so nervous the whole time.

Thanks for your response! I just hooked up all my consoles again for the first time in a couple years and just had the thought that maybe it's better for them to be disconnected but then also maybe they're like cars and where sitting really isn't good for them.

Oh and speaking of old consoles being beasts, I have an Atari 400 that survived a house fire!

So this is a thought I had the other day. Do you think for longevity / preservation it is best to leave consoles connected to power or leave them unplugged, ignoring something like a power surge?

Hi Everyone,

So, I am very new to self-hosting. A couple of years ago I set up a mini PC running Ubuntu Server with Nextcloud and Jellyfin on my network. Now I think I want to move away from Nextcloud as for me, uploading files to it hasn't been super reliable and it has been a little slow. It also seems to have a lot of features I really don't need.

At the moment, I basically use my server just for file storage, plus running Jellyfin. I think initially I went to nextcloud because I wanted a solution that would automatically sync my files to my network storage kinda like onedrive. However, Nextcloud on different systems doesn't work the same way and I basically ended up just manually copying everything over to Nextcloud and using it like a network drive. At that point, why even use nextcloud then? I would be better off with Sharing a folder using Samba right? Do you think that would be the best fit for my needs? Or should I learn about freenas? Taking a quick look at it I'm not sure what advantages it would have over just a samba share.

Edit: Thanks everyone! You've given me a lot to look into!

Hey everyone! You may remember me posting about a week ago about my t440p that would hard freeze after a couple minutes. I'm please to report that the problem seems to be resolved! So because this issue seemed to mostly happen while watching videos I suspected there was something wrong with the onboard graphics. Initially I was under the impression that the graphics chip was on the motherboard but then I learned it was built into the CPU itself. So I bought used CPU for $9 shipped on ebay and here I am typing my success story. By the way, this was like the easiest CPU to replace in anything. In the end was it the CPU or the graphics, I don't know. But its working now!

That's pretty disappointing. I bought it because of it's "bulletproof" reputation or at least that's what I've heard. I think I only got two years out of it. It was used but you know. It looks like I can get a new motherboard for $30 or so but I'm not quite sure that I feel like tearing into it that much, especially if they're known to have issues

I had a theory it had something to do with Firefox but it froze in chrome too. Thanks though! I think at this point its probably something going on with the motherboard

I tried removing the WiFi module but it still freezes. Thanks for the suggestion though!

So it seems it has something to do with video playback or at the very least YouTube. I was just troubleshooting now and I was able to play stardew valley for around 30 min or so. I close out of the game, open a YouTube video, and it freezes in about two minutes

I don’t really think so as it did the same thing running a bootable Linux mint drive with the current hard drive disconnected. Right now I just confirmed the fan is running so I don’t think it’s overheating or anything. Really strange

Hello everyone! So basically the title. I've already replaced the ram and tried running a different OS and still have this issue. The computer passes all of the onboard diagnostics. Just wanted to see if anyone else has encountered anything like this. Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I have a question about replacing rocker arms on my 2001 XJ. Is it necessary to bring the cylinder to top dead center on each cylinder as you replace and torque them down. I've seen people online mentioning needing to do this but in the service manual I have it does not state this at all. Here's what it describes

"INSTALLATION

NOTE: This procedure can be done with the engine in or out of the vehicle.

(1) Lubricate the ball ends of the push rods with Mopar Engine Oil Supplement, or equivalent and install push rods in their original locations. Ensure that the bottom end of each push rod is centered in the tappet plunger cap seat.

(2) Using Mopar Engine Oil Supplement, or equivalent, lubricate the area of the rocker arm that the pivot contacts. Install rocker arms, pivots and bridge above each cylinder in their originally position.

(3) Loosely install the capscrews through each bridge.

(4) At each bridge, tighten the capscrews alternately, one turn at a time, to avoid damaging the bridge. Tighten the capscrews to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) torque (Fig. 25).

(5) Install the engine cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD COVER(S) INSTALLATION)."

The reason I ask is because I recently had the head replaced by my mechanic. Since then it developed a very quiet tick. He did warn me after the install that if anything came up it would probably be the rocker arms as they were worn down. I forgot to get replacements while ordering all of the other parts and he cleaned them and reused them. So I had him take a listen and he thought that they were still probably the cause. Earlier today I replaced them and now have a louder tick. Going back and looking at the service manual I did pretty much exactly as described although I did not alternate tightening the capscrews. I even realized that as I was going and really should have. What do you guys think?

Update: So yesterday I went back and loosened up the rocker arms and torqued them back down to 21 ft pounds alternating back and forth. It did improve the noise. There doesn't really seem to be anything else you can really do as the pedestals sit directly on the head as long as they're torqued all the way down they should be good. I was able to locate the source of the ticking, it is the intake valve on the number one cylinder. I'm probably just going to leave it as is as it's super quiet and my mechanic was not very concerned.
