There does exist something similar to this: https://lemmy-status.org. It will eventually have an automatic list, but it is not implemented yet. They are currently adding instances in manually. The owner is @[email protected], one of our infra people at lemmy.world. The website is not connected to lemmy.world by any means btw.

I've recently moved to Kubuntu, and I think it's great for a first time distro. It's kinda like the fediverse, you can find whatever suits you after some time. I installed it on a separate SSD M.V2, and that works great for me. I do recommend having it side loaded with windows, so that you can still access it :)

So you mean like subscribing to the entire instance of lemmy.ml and only having lemmy.ml in your subscription list and not the induvidual communities? If so, no, you can't do that. But you can browse using the all button at the top of the page next to local to view all posts that is from federated instances :)

How does the directory discover communities? As, for instance, this community ([email protected]) does not exist in the directory.

That is also correct. This post is just very... wrong.

Good luck then!

Seems like you had some problems with embedding your image. Try doing this: "![](url here)", that should embed the image for you :)

Starting today, I'll try to not open reddit once, and start to learn more about the federative "system" or whatever youw want to call it. I think it definitely will be hard, but i do see a lot of possibility here in lemmy and in the federative in general! I've also moved away from twitter and on to mastodon.
