I totally agree, the directions apple maps gives are much more Human-like compared to google maps. Google maps is really bad about telling you turn in .25 miles or 200 feet, which in most of the gnarly infrastructure of America is nearly worthless. Apple Maps is better about letting you know to turn at the next stoplight or past the stop sign, which is what a regular person would do. Additionally, apple maps doesn’t constantly harass and scream at you when your on the interstate for 75 miles like google maps does.

Yeah I’m in the same bucket. Once libreddit dies, I’m off Reddit for good. I still like to browse some of the communities that aren’t fully established on Lemmy yet there and libreddit is he only thing that makes it palatable. I can’t stand reddit deciding to only show you the first comment in a chain of 30 and asking you to log in to see the rest.

I feel like most pour over cones will work. I use a V60 (the plastic variety) and there’s no way I could foresee it breaking outside of being an idiot.

Better voice to text. I’ve been acting like a boomer a lot more recently by dictating things into text fields and judging from the accuracy of the LLM models like whisper, I could seriously see myself using voice to text for everything that doesn’t need to be spelled out.

That second generation model is expected to cost hundreds of dollars less than the first one. It's expected to be released in 2025.

Won't have me complaining, there's no way I'm willing/able to pay $3500 for a device like this, but a smaller supply due to manufacturing during the first year or two will still have the same effect of establishing a market and ironing out the kinks before its more mainstream.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Most of the previous exodus were in waves of certain unsavory subreddits getting banned. This one is a little more balanced because the policy against third party apps is much broader in terms of who it affects, if anything it's selecting for more tech-minded individuals who were the ones using/caring about the third party apps in the first place. There's no real saying though if this is the great leap with reddit truly going down in flames, or if things will carry on as usual over there for normies and this becomes a splinter community for a slightly different demographic.

Yeah I heard about Lemmy from Mental Outlaw so this is my first real dip into the fediverse. I'm hoping it fosters a more diverse array of hobby centered communities than reddit, since the latter has started to feel more homogenous over time.

I also have had the heihox one for over a year now. My only gripe with it is the wooden ball is attached magnetically, and the magnet has weakened over time where the ball will go flying off if it gets bumped. It doesn't affect the daily use, but you just have to be a little more cognizant about it. Also I do not brew espresso so I don't know if it could go that fine, but for pour-over, aero press, and French press it does a pretty kick ass job.

Looks like the kind of house where you are always at risk of knocking something over or splitting your head over if you ever trip
