I remember downloading like a 1GB RealVideo video (over 56k dialup) of a South Park episode as a kid because we didn't have Comedy Central and I wanted to see it since everyone was talking about it at the time. The 3 is so, so much better. The 3s is a step down from it, based on the spec sheet, but I have no personal experience with it to say if it's worth the lower price or not.
If the Q3 is an option, I'd just say get the Q3.
