As much as I want to see Kashimo's hidden technique, I'd be peeved if he wins by Gojo wearing Sukuna down to a fraction of ability.

I don't believe this will last. AirBnBs are crashing in non-tourist towns because people don't have money. I firmly believe the remote revolution will push people out from cities and build up small towns so that work that has to be done in a physical location can thrive too. Small towns have the opposite problem of city centers where they have too much housing.

I picked up a house in one of these areas. It was I'm the 3rd ring of a metro and thus too rural for most. I bought right when the first Starbucks got finished and now they have expensive "luxury" apartments like crazy. I'm pleading with my sister to take a house one more ring out because she has a chance to get a house before they're too expensive. I got my house for 200K, but it's worth over double that and it's only been 2 years crazy.

To say I'm within an hour's drive of a big city I rarely go's because this city was a small town first not a suburb, so it has all you need really and they build responsibility knowing that most of the population has no taste for going more than the next small town over.

I feel like movement back to these small towns is the future. The internet will let us keep jobs there.

This is a bug that's gonna be fixed in v0.18.1. I wish I could link out to the bug on github, but I lost where I read this at. A way to get around this bug is just to click the community name in the sidebar and for some reason that makes the subscription button real

There's a bug in v18 that's going to be fixed in v18.1. The way I've been working around it is clicking the comm title and for some reason that makes the button real. Refreshing the page doesn't do that. I don't understand why this works, but this is how I've been getting around the subscribe button bug.

I like how Kashimo saw all this crazy Sukuna was doing and said, "I can take him. If Gojo dies, I'm up next" Way to dream Kashimo.

Okay, so it's backend magic. So what I'm getting is that he URL field needs to match. In that sense the crosspost button isn't doing its intention at all. 🤔

If the UI is doing a look up, doesn't that imply that there's some way to set crosspost values via the API? I'd like to know that if that's a thing.

[–] Iteria 2 points 2 years ago

Yes... But it wasn't clear to me if this was happening by backend magic or if the API needed to do something. Either is possible. I wanted to know because it's very much not happening all the time that those little crosspost thing is being displayed. At this point I'm not sure if there is a bug. but for me to know that I kinda need to answer a few questions first.

So are you saying that the UI does a look up and sets the values in this screenshot in this other comment? Whatever field those are set in are what I'm trying to set somehow.

[–] Iteria 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

🤔 But where is all the stuff in the highlighted part of this screenshot coming from? That's really what I'm trying to associate with a post.

Now I have to ask myself what I was looking at, but i found it. Crossposts on on the GetPostResponse object which does nothing to answer my question of how to set a cross post. Maybe I'll take some time to look at the server code and see if it's really backend magic

I mean... I figured that much, but I'm also find that the UI cross-posting isn't acting as I expect either. This is why I was consulting the documentation. When I just looked at what the URL was, I didn't see any difference between that and just creating a post. Which, probably explains why cross-posting wasn't giving me the results I wanted.

I'd like for someone to point out in the documentation where this is possible. It's certainly also possible that the API that's available to bots to use has somewhat drifted from what the UI project can do. Lemmy is several projects linked together after all and that requires some level of orchestration.
