From their self-titled 2011 EP. I don't always like newer goth bands, but this group feels pretty genuine to me.

Kara was effectively stealing 20% of LRT fares over the 13-year period; one in five coins that were fed into the machines by the paying public ended up in his shaving bag, amounting to around 2 million customer journeys. It seems inconceivable that he wasn’t caught sooner.

This really does seem inconceivable. I'm an industry accountant and worked in the safe room counting drawers for a supermarket and a cafeteria. I lose it when I'm not balanced, even $10 on a 200k deposit. How... How was someone not noticing 20%?? Hell he deserves it with the lack of controls in place. Maybe things were different then...

Define acquainted. Is this a professional setting? Yes, I would expect to shake hands (I'm an American woman). Also, it varies by region/culture.

Yep. It's quite literal, also from Wikipedia about Brooklyn heights:

Brooklyn Heights occupies a plateau on a high bluff that rises sharply from the river's edge and gradually recedes on the landward side.

I've really fantasized about being able to view my stats after I die. I come back to word counts pretty often. Or how many "near misses" I've had, if any I suppose.

One reason people get radicalized online is that meme culture can quickly reduce issues to a punchline or a call to arms. And by circulating entirely online, with no checks on factuality or origin, memes and the joking around them can convey messages and provoke reactions with none of the back-and-forth that happens in person, let alone the learning acquired through research or deep study.

Something that is not talked about enough.

Quality. Thank you for posting.

I felt the same way. This is obsession territory, not just a case of inventory mismanagement.

Care to elaborate "MFA via SMS only"? I'm not in tech and know MFA through text is widely used. Or do you mean alternatives like Microsoft Authenticator or YubiKey? Thanks!

Similarly when they walk in the house but don't shut the front door again, or open the fridge but never close it. I'm like waiting the whole scene to get back to that and missed the entire dialogue.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.uk#Second-level_domains?wprov=sfla1

Until 10 June 2014 it was not possible to register a domain name directly under .uk (such as internet.uk); it was only possible as a third-level domain (such as internet.co.uk).

Perhaps these sites were registered before 2014...

I think it's a nautical design. The wide base keeps it steady on ships. Hence why it's used in Star Trek.
