It broke Jerboa. I couldn't get jerboa to change to view all or change sort. On my lemmy.ml or lemmy.world accounts. So I assumed the jerboa v0.0.36 update broke it. I Uninstalled jerboa and tried to sideload 0.0.35 but no matter what apk I download it acts like 0.0.36 and says the server is out of date and won't log in. Now I can't log in to lemmy.world because they are on 0.0.17 (since the update broke their server).

Thanks for the work, but rolling out two updates simultaneously makes diagnosing issues impossible.

I did it guys. I officially moved Reddit is Fun out of my home buttons on my phone and replaced it with Jerboa for Lemmy. Clicking that button is muscle memory. I've opened it like 10 times today on accident.

Idk. I removed most the defaults and had a bunch of smaller more specific subs that I will miss.

Just call them sublemmies so we can just type subs.

I think "sub" is what people are going to call them reguardless. It is just internet language at this point, a subdivision of a community (by community I mean lemmy as a whole) is called a sub. Weather it's a subreddit or sublemmy. I'm not saying bring reddit with us, I am just saying the internet can take the term "sub" with it and use it elsewhere.

Its prefect, I think the "trade name" for that is "sub" anyways and that's what they will be called no matter what they are suposed to be called.

I feel like if the short version isn't "sub" then it is never going to stick. Reddit doesn't own words but it has set the standard. Sublemmies. That's what it is in my mind now.

Probably not just waiting for instances to smooth out, but waiting to see if reddit actually follows through. I think they likely will, but there is an off chance heads roll when they realize all the people creating, aggregating, and moderating their site are the ones that are pissed off and leaving. The casuals may not care directly about this decision, but they will when the content goes to shit.
