Are they gonna make these same accusations on companies and people working on behalf of Israel?

Why these people giving weapons to their kids before they're even in high school?

I have to agree. They really think everyone out there knows enough chemistry and medicine to pull this off. Even meth heads blow their house up occasionally. There is so much that goes into building a safe chemistry lab and you shouldn't risk it. Hobby chemistry is one thing but you can't skip school and become a professional just by buying a kit.

I'm curious as to how people will scam this like they did the PPP loans.

Personally I don't give a shit about Musk. I don't care about any celebrities but I try to not hate any of them because that's way too much attention I'm giving to someone who is so insignificant to me. I'm just always aware of them from being on these social media sites because there's always a legion of fans and haters. Maybe I'm really just complaining about social media and wish we were in the time of MySpace. Things were simple then and the internet was wild and untamed.

That's a bad comparison. Yelling "fire" in a crowd to induce a panic is illegal and can lead to arrest. But that happens after you actually yell "fire" not before you might yell "fire". In your example you say ban yelling "fire" when inducing a panic is already banned. Do you want people banned because of pre-crime?

All those downvotes you're getting shows me that Lemmy is exactly like Reddit. Hivemind

Can't wait for Codeberge to figure out federation on Activity Pub. Then other groups of people can host their own instance while we slowly move away from centralized repo hosts.

Hope this isn't a repeated submission. Funny how they're trying to deflect blame after they tried to change the EULA post breach.

So the US wants to ban US companies from working with the Chinese on Risc-V technology. I believe this is the reason why the RISC-V Foundation based itself in Switzerland, to avoid the US government from interfering with the spirit of open source. Your thoughts?

One of the things that annoyed the shit out of me when I was on Reddit is when users would sift through the post/comment history of your account to use as ammunition in an argument they are having with you now. Is there a way to block or limit access to my account history?

Been at this company for 4 months as a data engineer. When I started their codebase was a mess. All the code was in one folder with subfolders, the scripts were dependent on one another even if they didn't share the domain problem, their version control was "call the IT guy to grab the backup". In the first few months I set up a Github organization for them, put all their code into a git repo to start version control, got them to install and use IDEs instead of just VS Code, refactored some of the codebase to use SOLID standards, automated some tasks, transitioned them to a new Snowflake warehouse, and fixed several issues that was breaking their workflow. Today the CEO told me that this is an at-will state and he let me go. Didn't explain why, just asked for the equipment back.

I didn't get any write-ups, no one complained about my work, I was always looking for improvements, even the CEO thanked me a couple months ago for writing a word document to my managers on how I think the team can make improvements. They actually followed that doc and have been happy with it. This came from nowhere because no one brought any complaints. Today I am lost. I just need to vent and let this out.

Today as I was searching for interesting communities to join I suddenly became saddened as I remembered this app that I spent hours using. StumbleUpon. When it was young it was the app I spent the most time on waiting between classes. just finding something interesting was always worth it.

The app is not what it used to be. I went to stumbleupon.com just to see and its all corporate. I'm sad because I kinda want StumbleUpon for the fediverse. Maybe I don't want to search for hours looking for communities to join, mastodon users to follow, or pixelfed instances that may have great photos. Maybe I want StumbleUpon for the Fediverse. I could connect it with any federated account, stumble upon something interesting, and subscribe. How could we go about building that?

What are your thoughts?

Welp this is my first post and looks like my exit from Reddit post. The only app I used for Reddit has officially died. Time to go all in on Lemmy and hope that the developer makes JoeyForLemmy. I like Joey, it was great.
