I'd be totally on board if they did something like Lucha Underground did and had live bands perform as intermission, or if BABYMETAL were going to do a special entrance theme for someone.

I think it sucks mainly because they're hyping up the fact they'll be playing a BABYMETAL mp3 during PPV promo spots, like its going to make a huge difference to the event or something lmao

"official PPV theme song" is such a nonsense corporate idea.

PCPartPicker can filter for card length (in millimeters as opposed to inches, but still) and that should help with narrowing down your choices. Most GPUs have some variant that's shorter in length, but they might just charge a bit of a premium for it.

"present"

  • not "future"
  • usually a gift of some sort
    • announcements could be gifts
      • Lucha Bros are WWE-bound

I look forward to the dirtsheets confirming his days in AEW are now officially numbered.

So you're telling me Mortos is actually Man-Wolf from Dragonball?

The other side of the coin is that the Lucha Bros have a lot of side-hustles on the go that I don't think WWE would let them keep. Penta does a lot of Mexican indie shows, and they run their own "Republic of Lucha" merch store too. They'll have to weight up the value of their all their outside gigs (and a potential AEW offer) against the WWE offer.

I'm glad I got to see Penta do his thing in Lucha Underground, and the Lucha Bros AEW tag run was decent. As long as they're happily getting that money, it's all good, regardless where they end up.

What I feel would be acceptable:

If you're proud of your Framework laptop and want to brag about it, we'll give you some swag for free that you can show off with when you're out and about!

What this looked like to me:

If you're attending a conference we'd be paid to attend, but can't go to, will you show off your Framework laptop to attendees in an effort to convince them to buy one from us too, and we'll send you some stickers?

The issue isn't even what they're asking for, but how their asking it.

for all the AEW people: This is one of those “you should/need to watch this” segments.

It might be super important, and I might never have noticed it ever happened at all - that's how AEW TV goes.

spoiler-y thoughts on segmentIt felt like Dustin Rhodes was about to pull out a "When I lose, I'll leave for good" promo for a moment there. Are Dark Order featured frequently on ROH these days? I kinda wish they were on AEW more. I heard that Sammy was going to be showing up, nice to see it happen, and that it's (hopefully) not as part of The Learning Tree. Somehow both surprised and not surprised at all about the new hairstyle.

As much as Joey Janela has a rep for being a bit of a shite, Parker Boudreaux having a wrestling seminar is like someone trying to teach piano by staying one lesson ahead of their students. The only secret he could really teach is how to bluff being hired everywhere.

I watch the COPS channel waaaay too much when I can't decide what to put on.

An excursion somewhere could help kickstart his return, I'm not sure where I'd actually suggest he appear though... GCW or CMLL maybe?

Can't keep signing everyone up to NJPW tours 😂

Riccaboni doing that rap feels like an unplanned visit to the Ricca-bone zone. He's taking the focus away from Willow during her entrance, and I just found it kinda cringe - but different strokes for different folks and all.

I think we're just different eras of fan tbh, I couldn't mentally picture anything from AWA if I tried, I probably started watching WWF in 1997 or so and I only really have nostalgia for JR saying the words "slobberknocker" and "bah gawd!" wayyy too much.

JR has forgotten more about wrestling than anyone else I can think of (ha!) and a lot more talent should be squeezing those valuable insights out of him backstage, but half the time he's on commentary in AEW, he comes across like he doesn't even know who is in the match, let alone be capable of dropping interesting backstories about competitors that any of the other commentators couldn't have mentioned.

From their eighth album, "Come Clarity" (2006)

From the album "What Doesn't Kill Me..." (2009)

From their covers album "Skeletons in the Closet" (2009)

I'm always around a month+ behind with NJPW content, because they just release too much to keep up!

I've finally reached the Best of Super Jr. 30 (I'm on May 16/Day 4 right now) but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which matches are worth watching and which are perfectly skippable on my todo list, because I'm aiming to be up to date for Forbidden Door II and I know I've a lot to get through in the next week!

I know I could probably just skip to the Finals Night of BOSJ, but what can I say, I'm a bit of a completionist.

Events I still have to watch:

  • May 17: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 5
  • May 18: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 6
  • May 19: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 7
  • May 21: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 8
  • May 21: Resurgence
  • May 23: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 9
  • May 24: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 10
  • May 26: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 11
  • May 28: Best Of The Super Jr. 30 - Day 12
  • Jun 04: Dominion
  • Jun 09: All Together Again
  • Jun 10: New Japan Road - Road To Strong
  • Jun 17: New Japan Road - Road To Strong
  • Jun 18: New Japan Road - Road To Strong
  • Jun 25: AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door II
