First I’m hearing this claim — what did Apple do to Bluetooth hearing aids? My mother has been using Bluetooth hearing aids for a couple years now that have nothing to do with Apple, are you saying Apple was standing in the way of that?

Looks like. I was in Coober Pedy a few years ago and it was pretty much a~~n ordinary~~ town with ordinary buildings. There was a mining museum including an exhibit of how they used to furnish old mines and make houses out of them but I guess modern air conditioning has pretty much ended that.

Edit: ok the town was pretty fucking weird actually and very interesting. But it does appear to be 99% made out of ordinary buildings

Holy crap my iphone goes hard — I do not type like this:

“Women are not allowed in this world anymore because they don’t want their husbands and children in this country and the rest are forced into the hands and knees to get to work for their own selfish desires “

It’s funny but for non-dog people: this is actually measuring something. If your dog is so upset that cheese is not interesting then that is a very upset dog.

Thirded

I assume 3M makes those inserts for their hooks because it’s difficult to mass-produce cheap hollow objects with a firm flat back.

We don’t have that problem.

I have stuck all manner of things to the wall with command strips — power strips, 3D-printed hooks, boxes.. whatever has a flat back works fine.

I miss meaningful discussion of RVs and sailboats

The problem (… a problem …) with this happy little fantasy is that Biden is old and timid and won’t rock the boat. We need forceful reaction and he’s just staying placidly in his lane.

The problem is that sending in a resume and applying for a job takes effort. If you invite people to spend time and effort and mental energy to get a thing (job) when you know you won’t give it to them, then you are wasting their time and effort and mental energy, which I can tell you as somebody who fucking hates looking for jobs, that mental energy can be in serious short supply for people looking for work.

That “fresh pile of resumes” is definitely good for you when you want it, but the giant stale pile of resumes that you keep throwing away is not free for the people sending them in.

Hey man, do you want to be grammatically correct, or do you want to speak clearly to people who want to be a cop? Sometimes you have to make a choice.

I feel like requiring a drivers license for motor vehicles is ok.

I used to be that way with most poems and now some poems make me cry even when I don’t feel like I know what they’re talking about.

Hoarders gone wild?

I have some little black ants in my motorhome. I’m pretty sure I picked them up at my last stop in upstate New York but I’ve since driven far away from there. Wikipedia says little black ants nest in the soil so presumably I didn’t take their queen with me.

What’s going to happen to this group that hitched a ride? Are they likely to elect a new queen and go looking for a good nesting spot, or curl up and die, or what?
