I'm a lifelong PS gamer, but I'd say you should get them an XBOX Series S as it's an affordable system with good power behind it, and if you get them a Game Pass subscription they will have a tonne of games available to them. It will be a fairly financially conservative investment compared to the potential value

He's one of those players at club level that will score a flurry of goals in a few games in a row and then not score for ages, but most of the time he is at least making contributions on the field in other ways
