Yep, i would have paid full price, but I won't buy from epic, and i won't pay mor then 5$ for anything that was previously exclusive to this abomination.

Fuck 'em!

I verry much like OMV, simply because i could use it with knowledge i already have.

It is a Debian system -> I understand that

It uses normal RAID and ext4 -> I understand that (Plus, if things go wrong, I can just pop the drives back into any other computer and use it without much fuss)

It has a rSnapshot plug in -> I already used that in the past.

Sure I'm missing out on fancy stuff like BTRFS / ZFS, but i can live with that.

I learned this a while ago and I'm still mad about it. >.<

I am daily driving SailfishX on an XA2

It has a few bugs and weaknesses, but not having to deal with android or IOS is worth the occasional annoyance. I was planning to upgrade to the 10 III soon, but hearing about your experience i think i wait a bit longer.

Also my recomendation if you don't need anything fancy.

I like the integration into the broser a lot: Instead of switching between the reader and the browser, i just switch between browser tabs.

The only weird thing with this addon is the company that makes it. They put a lot of work into their browser addons without any obvious way of monetarisation. i can not explain to myself how they make money.

So maybee don't use it if you are on some three letter agency's naughty list ;)

It really does feel a bit like the old days ^tm^ (IRC and random PHP boards for me) and it gives me a bit of hope that some of the spirit of the old Wild West Internet is still here. To be honest I engaged more with lemmy in the last few days, then with anything in the last 5 Years.

Unfortunately, I think the feediverse in its unpolished, unoptimised and non-compliant state will run into some legal trouble as soon as it hits a certain popularity threshold.

*Looking at you EU and your relentless drive towards censorship >.>

In the worst case, we will have to rebuild a feediverse in the darker corners of the net.

Well ... at least it's ..... well it's something

i guess thats better than nothing ..... apart from the negative press they are getting.

Well at least it's cheaper than keeping an LHD option!

Personally, I kind of think there’s a reason why direct democracy isn’t used for this kind of stuff. If we really want a democratic forum we should have representatives,

Looking at the current state of the real world and real representative systems, i'm quite excited to see where this small direct democracy thing here is going.

--> Hey it works for the swiss, maybee it can work for us too. ;)
