Considering a shit ton of people took the pandemic as an excuse to avoid people including me is not actually that unusual. We only socialize for survival.
I shoukd always have the right to choosing a comfortable death though. Otherwise I'll have to go walk into the woods and hope mother nature isn't cruel that day.
We have never been able to afford the elderly because the elderly are extremely resource intensive. Getting old is extremely expensive and has been. Do not get old.
And the best way to avoid this in the future is to continue to lower the population so eventually we won't have so many elderly people. Stop making people, they will likely get old and be unsustainable.
AI is just humanity evolved. Why be afraid of a better humanity? We don't need to be flesh beings thrust out into this world from a wet slimy torn vagina or incision in the abdomen of a woman who severely regretted getting pregnant.
How is this existence better than what humanity will he through AI?

Many people don't want advice and that's fine. I complain not because I want them to fix it but because it helps me organize my thoughts and verify that my complaints are valid so that I can see if it's something I can fix myself, often though complaining about bad things that I cannot fix. I am perfectly capable of handling problems as an adult, but people need to vent so they can actually focus on a solution.
Stop labeling people something that has nothing to do with this. We aren't peddling some obscure crypto. I'm no bro. It's just so weird to me people on lemmy of all places are all fearful of AI... something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. It's fucking amazing.

Stop speaking for us, we have absolutely no problem with AI, our art is not threatened.
This guy won't be buying anything you create so you can pay your bills so why bother even interacting with him.
I'm no tech bro, and so far us artists are the ones actually defending AI because, holy moly, it's just crazy to think people truly believe in Skynet and all this conspiracy theory stuff.
My dad is an artist as well and he loves AI generated images. I will be training one in my own styles myself. It will make my work so much easier.
I have no interested in marriage and I find the concept absolutely bonkers. I shouldn't be financially and legally bound to someone to be their romantic partner. Been with my SO 16 years and we have a home, absolutely not interested in having kids and have never had any reason for marriage.
And if he ever has any medical or other kind of debt I won't be responsible for it. I won't be responsible for his funerary expenses etc and vice versa. I should not be responsible for someone I didn't birth. He's been there while I recovered from surgery at the hospital. Being married does nothing. He is listed as the one getting my life insurance and will get my savings if something happened to me. No kids, no exes, nobody to try and contest it. And if something changed I don't have to worry about 'divorce' and all that bullshit. What's mine is mine, what's his is his. He can use my debit card if he wants and I can cut access with a press of a button if we somehow broke up, which won't happen but still, it would be a clean break unlike married couples. Marriage is pointless.
